The Washington Commanders have signed Matthew Wright to kick against his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, after ruling out Matt Gay out with a back injury

Staying in Kansas City Tuipulotu signed a contract with the Chiefs on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Impact Tuipulotu signed to the Chiefs' 53-man roster in early September after being cut by the Eagles after training camp in late August. He appeared in two regular-season games for the Chiefs last season and registered four tackles (two solo), all of which came in the regular-season finale against the Broncos. By re-signing with Kansas City, Tuipulotu will have an opportunity to compete for a rotational role at defensive tackle for the 2025 season during offseason programs and training camp.

Lands on IR, done for season The Chiefs placed Tuipulotu (undisclosed) on injured reserve Friday.

Impact It's not clear what issue Tuipulotu is dealing with, but he's not eligible to play again this season regardless of how deep the Chiefs advance in the playoffs. The fourth-year defensive tackle played in Kansas City's final two games of the regular season, tallying four tackles (two solo). Tuipulotu signed a one-year contract with Kansas City last September and will be a free agent at the conclusion of the current campaign.
