Impact Addison, 35, was due a $3 million salary for 2023, but the Texans are moving on and clearing more than $2.3 million in cap space. He recorded just one sack in 12 appearances last season. Addison has 68 career sacks across 170 games of action.

Impact Addison was forced to miss the first four games of the season after landing on injured reserve due to a thigh injury, but he's set to make his season and team debut in Week 5. The veteran pass rusher has recorded at least five sacks in eight consecutive seasons and will look to continue that streak during his first campaign with Houston.

Impact Addison opened the season on IR, so he was forced to miss the first four games of the season. It's extremely encouraging that the veteran pass rusher is available to practice at the earliest possible time, but it remains unclear when he'll be ready for game action. The Texans will have a 21-day period to officially activate him from IR, but if they don't, he'll revert back to IR for the remainder of the campaign. Addison has recorded at least five sacks in eight consecutive seasons with two different teams, and when available, he'll look to extend that streak to nine campaigns and three teams.

Impact Addison appeared in every game for the Bills last year and recorded six sacks. The veteran defensive end will once again be coached by Jacques Cesaire, who also moved from Buffalo to Houston this offseason.

Impact Addison is one of Beane's many Panthers connections from his Carolina days and the veteran has spent two seasons with the Bills, totaling 12 sacks and 59 tackles over those two campaigns. Addison will be 35 during the 2022 campaign, so we doubt there's a big free-agent figure awaiting him, but it sounds like he'll at least explore the market. It sounds like the cash-strapped Bills are interested in bringing him back at a cost-friendly deal should Addison not find a golden ticket elsewhere for what might be his final NFL contract.
