Tears ACL, MCL Bruss suffered tears to his ACL and MCL on Saturday and is out for the season, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Impact It's a brutal break for the 2022 third-rounder out of Wisconsin. The Rams had hoped Bruss might be able to provide some immediate depth on the interior of their offensive line and perhaps even stretch out to tackle this regular season, but they'll now have to wait until next year before he's ready to play again. In the meantime, Tremayne Anchrum, Jeremiah Kolone and Jack Snyder are available as depth options at guard for Los Angleles.

Injures knee Bruss left the field with an apparent knee injury during the Rams' 24-20 preseason loss vs. Houston on Friday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Impact The severity of his injury is unknown, but Bruss did later return from the locker room to sit on the sideline with his teammates, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. As he works his way back into action, the Rams will likely lean more heavily on Tremayne Anchrum for depth on the interior of their offensive line.

Nabbed by defending champs The Rams selected Bruss in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 104th overall.

Impact This will probably prove a good pick by the Rams. While he has an outside shot to stick at tackle, Bruss (6-foot-5, 309 pounds) is more likely to emerge as a starting guard after a distinguished, versatile career at Wisconsin. Bruss primarily played right tackle there, but might be a tad too small with too little reach (33 and 1/8-inch arms) to stay there. Bruss projects very well at guard, however, and he has excellent athleticism to work with (31-inch vertical jump, 112-inch broad jump).
