Placed on injured reserve
Fitts (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact
Fitts' placement on injured reserve doesn't come as a surprise since he announced Friday that he'll miss the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old recorded two solo tackles while playing mainly on special teams to begin the year.

Out for season
Fitts (concussion) announced via his instagram that he will be out for the remainder of the 2021 season.
Impact
Fitts appeared in all six games for the Cardinals this season and recorded two solo tackles. His absence shouldn't affect Arizona's defensive rotations, but he will likely be missed on special teams.

Pens one-year deal in Arizona
Fitts signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Impact
Fitts was an exclusive-rights free agent, so he had little choice but to sign his tender offer. He isn't a candidate to emerge as a fantasy asset in IDP formats, but his presence as a depth defensive player and special-teams asset will be notable for Arizona.

Lands on injured reserve
Fitts (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Impact
Fitts missed Week 15 with a hamstring injury but returned to the lineup for this past Saturday's loss to the 49ers. The Cardinals didn't reveal the reason Fitts was placed on IR, but it's likely related to the prior hamstring issue. Fitts will be eligible to return if the Cardinals make it to the NFC Championship.

Clear to face Niners on Saturday
Fitts (hamstring) is listed as active heading into Saturday's game against San Francisco.
Impact
Fitts couldn't suit up last Sunday during a home win over the Eagles after popping up late in the week on the Cardinals' injury report. The 2018 sixth-round pick of Chicago has been subsequently cleared for a Week 16 appearance with limited practice sessions Tuesday through Thursday. The overwhelming majority of Fitts' involvement since Week 10 has come via special teams, as he's only fielded 28 combined defensive snaps over his past five appearances.

Can't go Week 15
Fitts (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Eagles, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact
This injury popped up Thursday, and the third-year linebacker watched from the sidelines during Friday's session. Fitts rarely plays on defense, so his absence will mainly affect the Cardinals' special-teams coverage.

Suiting up Sunday

Tagged as questionable
Fitts (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Seahawks, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Impact
Fitts logged three limited practice sessions this week and is trending in the right direction, although the Cardinals could shut him down so he can get back to full health during the team's Week 8 bye. The 26-year-old linebacker is slated for a starting role if he can play, but Haason Reddick is expected to start if Fitts can't go.

Unavailable for Week 6
Fitts (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game versus the Cowboys, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
Fitts was unable to practice this week and will predictably sit out as a result. The 26-year-old is expected to start at outside linebacker moving forward with Chandler Jones (biceps) on injured reserve, but for the time being, Dennis Gardeck (foot) likely will take over if he's healthy.

Ready to roll Week 2
Fitts (wrist) is active for Sunday's game against Washington, per the Cardinals' official Twitter account.
Impact
Fitts had been dealing with a wrist injury, but ultimately he showed enough throughout the week to earn a second consecutive active designation to kick off 2020. The 25-year-old linebacker fielded nine defensive snaps and 13 special-teams snaps during Arizona's season-opening upset of San Francisco, and he is primed to step into a depth role once again Week 2.
