'Romantic' Kyle Trask Marries Girlfriend After Re-Signing with Bucs Buccaneers quarterback Kyle Trask recently signed a new one-year, $2.78 million deal to stay in Tampa Bay for the foreseeable future.
APRIL 7, 2025 • NEWSOBSERVER.COM
Slated to back up Mayfield again Trask and the Buccaneers agreed on a one-year, $2.787 million contract Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact Trask will spend his fifth straight NFL campaign with Tampa Bay after the organization selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The 27-year-old has yet to see much regular-season action, taking just 32 offensive snaps and completing four of 11 pass attempts for 28 yards during his time in the league. Trask is slated to serve as the backup to Baker Mayfield again now that he's re-signed with the Bucs.
MARCH 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Sparse action in 2024 Trask appeared in four games during the 2024 regular season and completed his only pass attempt for five yards while netting minus-4 yards on five carries.
Impact The third-year pro put up only one pass attempt for the second straight season, as Baker Mayfield once again suited up for all 17 regular-season games and the Buccaneers' wild-card loss to the Commanders. Trask has only 11 pass attempts over seven regular-season contests across his first three seasons, and he's now slated for unrestricted free agency once the new league year begins March 12. The 2021 second-round pick would likely be welcomed back by the Buccaneers, but Trask may want to seek out a team where his path to playing time may be a bit more realistic.
JANUARY 23, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Cameo appearance in Week 13 win Trask replaced Baker Mayfield (leg) for two plays during the Buccaneers' 26-23 overtime win against the Panthers on Sunday and completed his only pass attempt for five yards.
Impact Trask took his first snap with 5:32 remaining in the third quarter on a handoff to Bucky Irving (hip) and completed a five-yard pass to his running back on the next play before Mayfield reentered the contest after walking off his leg injury, which was the result of being cleated. The pass was Trask's first of the season and second appearance overall. Mayfield was experiencing leg soreness Monday per per Jenna Laine of ESPN.com, but he's expected to be ready to play in Sunday's Week 14 home matchup against the Raiders.

Strong showing in preseason finale Trask completed 17 of 24 passes for 141 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding one carry for one yard in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins...
Impact Baker Mayfield started and led the Buccaneers on a touchdown drive during the opening possession, and Trask subsequently took over for the duration of the contest. As his final implies, the third-year signal-caller was sharp and mistake-free throughout, and he connected with Ryan Miller (10 yards) and Tanner Knue (two yards) for his pair of scoring tosses. With John Wolford not seeing any action Friday and Trask looking impressive with his extended opportunity, it appears likely the latter has locked up the No. 2 quarterback job.

Impact Trask led the Buccaneers' only scoring drive of the night, a nine-play, 68-yard march he capped off with a six-yard touchdown pass to Cody Thompson. With his first-half performance, the third-year quarterback appears to have gotten a leg up on fellow signal-caller John Wolford in the battle for the No. 2 job, although head coach Todd Bowles may simply wait until after the preseason finale against the Dolphins on Friday night before announcing his decision.
