Kisean Johnson - NFL News, Rumors, & Updates | FOX Sports

Waived by Packers Johnson was waived by the Packers on Sunday, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.

Impact The wide receiver landed on Green Bay's practice squad in January and then signed another deal with the team in August, but he was not able to find a spot in a crowded receiver room led by Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden. Johnson caught four passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns in Green Bay's preseason finale against Arizona, helping the Packers overcome an 11-point deficit. The Western Kentucky product, who went undrafted in 2025, should at least get a practice-squad shot with Green Bay or another team.

Signs with Green Bay The Packers signed Johnson to a contract Sunday.

Impact Johnson signed onto the Packers' practice squad in January, but did not sign a reserve/future deal with the franchise. The wide receiver has now made his way back to Green Bay to fill in the depth, with Jayden Reed (ankle) and Matthew Golden (toe) currently absent due to injury. Johnson will likely maintain his role until cutdown day, when he will probably be waived. There is a good chance that the wide receiver does end up on the practice squad once again come September.
