Saints look to take skid-ending effort at Giants overseas

Leading rusher in Week 6 win Miller carried the ball 20 times for 70 yards and caught both his targets for zero yards in Sunday's 34-27 win over the Giants.

Impact Alvin Kamara missed time in the first half due to an undisclosed injury, and while he was able to return and make an impact as a pass catcher, Miller led the Saints in rushing yards and touches with 22. The 70 yards also represented his best total since Week 18 of his rookie season in 2023. With Travis Etienne (hamstring) not eligible to return until after a Week 8 bye, Miller should split reps in the backfield with Kamara once again in Week 7 against the Steelers in Paris.

Impact Miller averaged only 3.0 YPC during Sunday's loss, but his two-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter gave the Saints an early 7-3 lead, although New Orleans' offense generated only three more points the rest of the way. His 10 carries led the Saints' backfield that also includes CJ Donaldson (four carries) and Alvin Kamara (three), though Miller had only three rushes during the second half. Kamara dealt with a back issue during Week 5 prep, and if that issue continues to linger, then Miller could be the Saints' lead back for Week 6 against the Giants this Sunday.

Six carries in defeat Miller rushed six time for nine yards and caught two of three targets while losing a fumble in Monday night's 45-24 loss to Atlanta.

Impact Miller was rumored to be on track for a larger workload in Week 4 after starting running back Travis Etienne (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve. Miller was only on the field for 26 percent of the team's offensive snaps, which could have been as a result of a first-quarter fumble that Atlanta ultimately recovered. Veteran Alvin Kamara was on the field for 41 percent of the offensive snaps, turning seven carries into 23 yards and two scores while also reeling in five of seven targets for 35 yards in the contest. It appears as if Miller will operate as the No. 2 option behind Kamara in Etienne's absence, making him a low-upside fantasy option.

That leaves CJ Donaldson as the active third backfield option behind Etienne and Kamara in Week 2. Miller's next chance for game action is next Sunday against the Raiders.
