Joins Steelers' practice squad Pittsburgh signed Welschof to its practice squad Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

Impact Welschof was waived from Pittsburgh's practice squad with a knee injury prior to Week 1, but he's now healthy and back with the team ahead of Week 13. With Alex Highsmith struggling to get back to full strength from a lingering ankle injury, it makes some sense that the Steelers are adding a potential depth option on the edge.

Let go with injury settlement Welschof (knee) was waived off the Steelers' injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Impact Welschof sustained a knee injury during the Steelers' preseason finale against the Lions this past Saturday. He was set to miss the entire 2024 season after being placed on IR, but he will now be able to sign with a team once he's fully recovered from his injury.
