Impact Babicz, a 6-foot-6 rookie tight end from North Dakota State, was let go from Carolina's practice squad in mid-October but has since found a new home in Green Bay. While he has yet to make his NFL debut, Babicz will now serve as an emergency depth option for the Packers' tight end group should any of them miss time.

Carted off with undisclosed injury Babicz was carted off the Panthers' practice field Wednesday due to an undisclosed injury, Schuyler Callihan of SI.com reports.

Impact The extent of the injury remains unclear, but it's never a good sign when the cart comes out. The rookie undrafted free agent was signed by the Panthers in May after posting 12 receptions for 254 yards and four touchdowns across 15 appearances during his final campaign at North Dakota State.

Joins Carolina Babicz has signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Impact Babicz played 15 games for North Dakota State last season, recording 12 catches for 254 yards and four touchdowns. He was considered a key blocker for the Bison, who were No. 2 in the FCS in rushing yards per game and No. 1 in yards per carry. Babicz likely will be competing with Stephen Sullivan, Colin Thompson and Jared Scott for a roster spot in camp.
