Designated for return The Panthers announced Wednesday that Charlton (back) has been designated for return from IR, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Impact Charlton was placed on IR mid-October and has missed the designated minimum of three games, making him eligible to return as soon as Sunday's contest against the Patriots. The Panthers officially have a 21-day window to evaluate the punter at practice.

Sidelined at least three weeks Charlton (back) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Darin Gannt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Impact Charlton popped up on the injury report as a limited participant Wednesday, which didn't seem to be a reason to be particularly concerned about his health. Just one day later, he was placed on injured reserve, which will keep him out for a minimum of the team's next three games. Charlton has averaged a net of only 37.5 yards per punt this season.
