Impact Scarlett was elevated to the active roster for Monday's win over the Saints for his season debut, and he played 16 snaps on special teams before suffering the knee injury. He's set to undergo surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

Impact Scarlett joined the Dolphins' practice squad in mid-December and will serve as a COVID-19 replacement for Monday's contest. Myles Gaskin, Duke Johnson, Phillip Lindsay and Salvon Ahmed are all healthy, so Scarlett is unlikely to be much of a factor in Miami's backfield.

Impact Scarlett's only NFL regular-season action came in 2019 for the Panthers, when he appeared in nine games and registered four carries for nine yards. Impact Scarlett didn't appear in a regular-season game in 2020, but he did spend time on the Lions' practice squad. The former Florida Gators standout will now get an opportunity to compete for a depth role with Miami this offseason.
