Will need surgery Coach Adam Gase said Thursday that Jenkins (shoulder) will require surgery to address his injury, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

Impact Jenkins is already on IR for the final three weeks of the season, but the news that he'll need surgery could impact his stock in free agency. The 2016 third-round pick had his sack totals decrease from eight to two from 2019 to 2020, but he notched 32 solo tackles both seasons. Through 12 games in 2019, he also had one defended pass and a forced fumble.

Impact Jenkins missed last week's loss to the Seahawks with the shoulder injury, but as evidenced by this news, he won't return this season as he's forced to miss at least the next three games. The Georgia product had a decent season at linebacker in 2020, accumulating 32 tackles (15 solo), two sacks and a forced fumble through 12 games. With Jenkins sidelined, Frankie Luvu and Tarell Basham assume starting roles at outside linebacker.

Out for Week 14 Jenkins (shoulder) is ruled out for Sunday's game against Seattle, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Impact Jenkins' shoulder injury will force him to miss his first game of the season, making Bryce Hager and Frankie Luvu candidates to handle increased roles. Coach Adam Gase hinted earlier this week that Jenkins had a chance to play, so it's possible that he could require only a one-game absence.

Impact Jenkins has dealt with the shoulder injury during the season already, so it appears the issue continues to bother him. The Georgia product has been strong in a starting role the past four games, racking up 23 tackles (nine solo) and a sack over that span. If he's forced to miss Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Frankie Luvu or Bryce Hager could be in line for a starting role.
