Secures future deal with Bears The Bears signed Horsted to a reserve/future contract on Monday.

Impact Horsted appeared in six games with Chicago during the 2019 season, catching eight of 10 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown. The tight end reverted to the practice squad after his NFL debut, but Horsted will strive for an opportunity to see more game action in 2021.

Shifts to waivers The Bears waived Horsted on Saturday, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Impact Horsted came in handy last season when the Bears' tight-end depth took a hit, as he played in six games and caught eight of 10 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown. The Bears brought in reinforcements at tight end this offseason, though, signing Jimmy Graham and drafting Cole Kmet in the second round, so Horsted will look for a new opportunity elsewhere.
