Impact McNichols was banged up leading up to Monday's matchup against the Bills and appeared to aggravate the injury quickly in the contest. It's unclear how long he may be sidelined, but he'll need to return to some capacity of practice in the coming days to have any chance to suit up in Week 7 against the Chiefs.

Impact Since McNichols is at least on the practice field in some capacity to begin the week, his ankle injury more than likely won't prevent him from playing Monday against the Bills. Instead, the greater threat to McNichols' outlook both this week and beyond is the potential return of Darrynton Evans (knee), who resumed practicing Oct. 6 and could be reinstated from injured reserve Monday. Whenever he's deemed ready to go, Evans could unseat McNichols as the top change-of-pace option behind Derrick Henry. McNichols has at least made a strong bid to keep the third-down role after averaging 5.4 yards per carry and 7.0 yards per target through the first five weeks of the season.

Impact McNichols remainined limited in the rushing attack, as Derrick Henry racked up an impressive 33 attempts on the ground. However, McNichols did increase his involvement as a receiver in the absence of both Julio Jones (hamstring) and A.J. Brown (hamstring), and he ultimately led the team in all receiving categories. Heading into Week 5, it will be difficult to project McNichols to carry this type of volume forward, though he could maintain increased involvement in the offense if the Titans' remain short-handed among its wide receiver corps.

McNichols will continue to serve as the complementary back to Derrick Henry, though it is worth noting that Henry has seen at least three targets in each game so far this season, which will make it difficult for McNichols to earn consistent volume.
