Impact Adams could be a candidate to rejoin the Buccaneers via the practice squad, depending on how the rest of the tight-end room shakes out. Adams didn't log any NFL action last season and only suited up for one game with the Texans back in 2019.

Joining practice squad Adams was signed to Detroit's practice squad Wednesday.

Impact After making one appearance for Houston last season, the 27-year-old tight end hasn't yet garnered any game appearances in 2020. Adams was most recently with the Ravens during training camp, but the team parted ways with him ahead of Week 1. Now he'll provide practice squad depth for a franchise that has an ascending talent at the position in T.J. Hockenson.

Impact The transaction means the Ravens have just two tight ends on their active roster -- a surprisingly total given the team's extra reliance on the position. Adams could return to the roster at some point following the 53-man cutdown, although it's also possible he ends up on the team's practice squad in lieu of a larger free-agent name.
