INJURIES

Under contract for 2026 Jordan finished the 2025 season with 43 carries for 193 yards over four regular-season games. He added seven catches on seven targets for 34 yards.
Impact Jordan was signed off the practice squad in late in the season when both Woody Marks and Nick Chubb were hobbled by injury. Jordan had an impressive debut in Week 15, when he had 15 carries for 101 yards in a win over Arizona. With better health in the backfield, Jordan was inactive for both of Houston's playoff games. He's under contract for 2026, and the Texans are expected to added pieces to their backfield during the offseason.

Inactive Sunday Jordan is inactive for Sunday's divisional-round game against the Patriots.
Impact Jordan, who sat out this past Monday's wild-card win at Pittsburgh due to a high-ankle sprain that he sustained Week 18 against the Colts, had approached the contest without an injury designation, but the running back won't be available versus New England after all. In his continued absence, Woody Marks will continue to lead Houston's backfield Sunday, with Nick Chubb next up for carries.
JANUARY 18 • ROTOWIRE
Set to return Sunday Jordan (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's divisional-round game in New England.
Impact Jordan sat out Monday's wild-card win at Pittsburgh due to a high-ankle sprain that he sustained Week 18 against the Colts. After opening this week with limited listings Wednesday and Thursday, he returned to a full practice Friday, which was enough for the Texans to clear him ahead of the weekend. Jordan thus will be in the mix for RB reps along with Nick Chubb behind starter Woody Marks on Sunday.
JANUARY 16 • ROTOWIRE
Another limited practice Jordan (ankle) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Impact Jordan, who was also limited at practice Wednesday, missed this past Monday's wild-card win over the Steelers while dealing with a high-ankle sprain that he sustained in Week 18. However, the running back's ability to practice both Wednesday and Thursday, albeit in a limited fashion, offers hope that he could return to action for Sunday's divisional-round contest against the Patriots. Friday's injury report will reveal whether Jordan heads into the weekend with an injury designation or cleared to rejoin a Houston backfield that also includes Nick Chubb and is led by Woody Marks.
JANUARY 15 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to practice Wednesday Jordan (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Impact Jordan, who is managing a high-ankle sprain that he sustained in Week 18, didn't practice last week before being ruled out for this past Monday's wild-card win over the Steelers. The running back's return to the field Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity, is a step in the right direction for him ahead of Sunday's divisional-round contest against the Patriots. If Jordan is able to return to action this weekend, he'd be in line to work in a complementary role in a Houston backfield led by Woody Marks, which also includes Nick Chubb.

Steelers and Texans nearly at full strength for wild-card showdown

The Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers are both in good shape heading into their wild-card showdown
JANUARY 13 • Associated Press
Not playing Monday Jordan (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's wild-card game in Pittsburgh.
Impact Jordan came out of Week 18 with a high-ankle sprain and wasn't able to practice in any capacity Thursday through Saturday, so the decision to keep him on the sideline comes as little surprise. With Jordan set to be inactive, Houston's backfield options behind starter Woody Marks will be Nick Chubb, Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks. Jordan's next chance for game action will come in the divisional round, assuming the Texans emerged victorious Monday.

Texans' rotational RB in doubt to play against Steelers | Sporting News Jawhar Jordan has been a valuable depth piece for the Texans, but his ankle injury has put his gameday status in question.
JANUARY 10 • SPORTINGNEWS.COM
Still not practicing Jordan (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact Per Wilson, Jordan -- who was listed as a non-participant Thursday -- is dealing with high-ankle sprain, which clouds his status for Monday night's playoff opener against the Steelers. If he ends up limited or out, added backfield snaps behind Woody Marks would be available for Nick Chubb and Dare Ogunbowale, with British Brooks available to mix in.
JANUARY 9 • ROTOWIRE
Skips practice with high-ankle sprain Jordan didn't participate in Thursday's practice due to a high-ankle sprain, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact Though Houston has a longer turnaround for its playoff opener with a Monday matchup versus the Steelers, Jordan was a spectator to begin the week of prep after he was forced out of this past Sunday's regular-season finale against the Colts due to the injury. Before getting hurt, Jordan appeared to have overtaken Nick Chubb as the preferred backup option at running back behind Woody Marks, but the second-year player out of Louisville now looks like he could be at risk of being sidelined for the wild-card round. Jordan will have two more chances to potentially practice this week before the Texans decide whether he'll take a designation into Monday's game.

Won't return Sunday Jordan (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Colts.
Impact Jordan injured his ankle during the first half of Sunday's game. The injury has been deemed severe enough for the second-year pro to not return and could impact his availability for the wild-card round of the AFC playoffs. Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks are poised to see more snaps out of the backfield behind Woody Marks in Jordan's absence.

Hurts ankle Sunday Jordan exited Sunday's game against the Colts after sustaining an ankle injury.
Impact Prior to that, Jordan carried five times for three yards. In his absence, Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks are available to handle backfield touches behind Woody Marks.

Keeps role in Houston's backfield Jordan rushed the ball eight times for 36 yards in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Chargers.
Impact Woody Marks returned from a one-game absence to retake the lead role in Houdton's backfield, though Jordan usurped Nick Chubb for the complementary role. Jordan chipped in decent gains of 10 and nine yards with his opportunity and looks to be in position to contribute to Houston's postseason run.

Leading rusher on 15 attempts Jordan handled 15 carries for 53 yards while catching all five of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 23-21 win over the Raiders.
Impact Nick Chubb (6-33-0) got the start in place of Woody Marks (ankle) on Sunday, but it was Jordan who paced the Texans' backfield in touches and production in the win. Jordan was signed from the practice squad early in the practice week to help address the team's ailing running back situation. The 2024 sixth-round pick averaged under four yards per carry and failed to hit pay dirt, resulting in a pedestrian fantasy score. Marks was able to get in a limited practice before ultimately being ruled out for Week 16, so Jordan's run of relevance may last just one game if the former is able to suit up against the Chargers on Saturday.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan gets major contract update after 101-yard game | Sporting News Well deserved recognition for the rookie.
DECEMBER 16, 2025 • SPORTINGNEWS.COM
Appointed to roster The Texans signed Jordan off their practice squad Tuesday.
Impact Houston still had the ability to elevate Jordan from the practice squad on two more occasions, but the Texans evidently didn't want to risk him getting poached by another team following his impressive showing in his NFL debut during this past Sunday's 40-20 win over the Cardinals. With Nick Chubb (ribs) inactive for the contest and with Woody Marks (ankle) missing the entire second half, Jordan stepped in and carried 15 times for 101 yards to go with two receptions for 17 yards. Jordan should have at least a small role in the game plan in this Sunday's game against the Raiders if at least one of Chubb and Marks misses the contest, though head coach DeMeco Ryans already suggested Monday that Marks wasn't expected to miss additional time. If both Marks and Chubb are available, Jordan might have more difficulty finding snaps on offense, and he may even be at risk of being inactive for Week 16 since fellow depth backs Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks are both core special-teams contributors.
