Signs future deal with 49ers Mayden signed a future/reserve contract with the 49ers on Wednesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact After suffering a quad injury during Week 10, Mayden is recovered and will join the 49ers for the 2021 campaign. During the two games in which the safety participated, he played in 24 special teams snaps and had one solo tackle.

Out with quad injury Mayden (quadriceps) was placed on the 49ers' practice squad injured list Tuesday.

Impact Mayden was elevated as an extra player from the practice squad for Sunday's loss to the Saints and reverted to the practice squad after the contest. He'll be unavailable for at least the next few weeks due to the injury.

Suffers quad injury Coach Kyle Shanahan said Sunday that Mayden sustained a quadriceps injury, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact Mayden injured his quadriceps during Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Saints, in which he recorded one solo tackle. He'll work to get healthy in time to retake the field versus the Rams in Week 11.
