Agrees with Lions on one-year deal Detroit signed Robinson to a one-year contract Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Robinson's most recent NFL regular-season action came in Week 7 last season with Carolina. He was cut shortly thereafter having logged just 73 defensive snaps over 21 contests with the Panthers across two seasons, though he also played extensively on special teams. Robinson will give the Lions some depth in a secondary that won't have Brian Branch (suspension) for Monday's game against Tampa Bay and that is also dealing with several injuries.

Impact Carolina waived Robinson in order to make room for safety Nick Scott (hamstring), who was activated from IR, on the 53-man roster. A 2023 fifth-round pick, Robinson will be a candidate to resurface on the Panthers' practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Impact Robinson had been listed as doubtful heading into the weekend after he was limited in practice to begin Week 10 prep before sitting out the team's sessions on Thursday and Friday entirely. Gantt notes that Robinson won't be in attendance for the game, as the second-year safety flew back to the United States to tend to a personal matter.
