Fades as offensive threat
Washington recorded three receptions on four targets for 25 yards in Week 5 against Philadelphia.
Impact
After seeing seven targets in the team's last contest in Week 3, Washington faded in the offensive game plan with Dionate Johnson (back) absent for much of the game. Rookie Chase Claypool instead emerged as Ben Roethlisberger's favorite target. Assuming Johnson is good to go for the team's Week 6 matchup against the Browns, Washington is unlikely to see a heavy target share.

Leads team in targets, receptions
Washington caught five of seven targets for 36 yards during Sunday's 28-21 win over the Texans.
Impact
Washington led the team in targets and receptions while finishing seven yards behind Juju Smith-Schuster for the lead in receiving yardage. He assumed a larger role in the offense after Diontae Johnson (concussion) left the game, and although he couldn't generate much yardage with his looks, he showed a nice rapport with Ben Roethlisberger. Washington could be in a spot to produce next Sunday against the Titans if Johnson is forced to sit out.

Held to 22 yards
Washington had three receptions for 22 yards in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Broncos.
Impact
The third year wideout was targeted five times compared to three last week, but he is still behind JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson on Pittsburgh's wide receiver depth chart. Even with a potentially high-scoring game coming up against Houston in Week 3, it is difficult to insert Washington into your fantasy lineups.

Scores in opener
Washington caught two of three targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 26-16 win over the Giants.
Impact
Washington added an exclamation point to Pittsburgh's first half, powering a 13-yard catch across the goal line with seven seconds remaining. Besides that score, he also chipped in with a 21-yard gain on his other grab. While that made for an efficient showing, Washington's volume unsurprisingly trailed top wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster, but Diontae Johnson's six grabs on 10 targets comfortably surpassed his share as well. With rookie Chase Claypool making a couple catches to boot, the Steelers appear stocked with solid options, so it'll be interesting to see how Washington's workload shakes out in the weeks to come.

Practices fully
Washington (undisclosed) practiced fully Friday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Impact
Now that he's back practicing fully, the team's top downfield threat will continue to compete with second-year player Diontae Johnson and 2020 second-rounder Chase Claypool for targets behind behind Pittsburgh's No. 1 wideout, JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Limited in practice
Washington was seen practicing in a limited capacity Wednesday, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writer Brian Batko.
Impact
The past few weeks have been difficult for Washington, who is dealing with an undisclosed injury less than two weeks after being activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Steelers have a plethora of wide receiver talent on their roster so it is not surprising that the team would proceed cautiously with Washington.

Dealing with injury
Coach Mike Tomlin called Washington "day-to-day" due to a minor undisclosed injury, Gerry Dulac and Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.
Impact
Washington wasn't in pads at Monday's practice and was limited Tuesday, but his injury isn't considered serious. It wouldn't surprised if the Steelers continue to exercise caution with the third-year wide receiver until he can handle a full allotment of drills.

Hoping for clearance in coming days
Johnson (sports hernia) said Wednesday that he's hopeful to receive clearance to resume training within the next few days, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Johnson indicated that he first picked up the groin injury Week 2 of the 2019 season and played through the issue before undergoing a procedure over the winter. The second-year receiver has spent time working out with Ben Roethlisberger this offseason in an attempt to develop a rapport with the veteran quarterback, but he's still apparently facing some limitations in his recovery from surgery. Johnson will face competition from James Washington and rookie Chase Claypool for regular reps at receiver, though the 23-year-old's impressive rookie season likely gives him a leg up.
