Inks future deal with Buffalo The Bills signed Virgil to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.

Impact Virgil caught on with the Bills' practice squad in late August after failing to make the Broncos' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He was signed to Buffalo's active roster Nov. 8, and after being waived Dec. 14 he was signed back to the practice squad. He ended up playing in seven regular-season games and spent most of his time on special teams, though he did not show up in the box score otherwise. The 26-year-old wide receiver out of Appalachian State will be on the Bills' 90-man roster when the new league year starts March 12, which will allow him to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp ahead of the 2025 campagin.

Impact Virgil has now been elevated to the Bills' active roster for each of their two playoff games. However, the Appalachian State product didn't play a snap in either contest, likely serving as additional wide receiver depth in case of injuries. He could return to the Bills' active roster for Sunday's AFC Championship game in Kansas City.

Impact Virgil missed the entire 2023 season due to a torn meniscus. He entered training camp fully healthy, but he was unable to make the Broncos' 53-man roster after posting just one catch (on four targets) for 13 yards across Denver's three preseason games. Virgil did get some reps as a kick returner during the preseason -- he turned three kick returns in 88 yards against the Colts on Aug. 11 -- and he could get called up to the Bills' active roster at some point during the season to fill that role if needed.
