Johnson could step up into an immediate reserve role with the Falcons after the team also placed starting defensive lineman Ta'Quon Graham (knee) on injured reserve Monday.

Impact Johnson appeared in 12 contests for the Texans last season and registered 23 tackles (11 solo) and one fumble recovery.
