Quiet end to 2020 campaign Doyle caught all three of his targets for 17 yards during Week 17's 28-14 win over the Jaguars.
Impact Doyle had 23 catches (33 targets) for 251 yards and three touchdowns in 14 regular-season games this year. Those mark his lowest receiving totals since 2015, with exception given to the 2018 season in which injuries limited him to just six appearances. The Colts have a potential out from the 30-year-old's contract this offseason, as cutting him would only result in $1.5 million of dead cap. Doyle would carry a $5.85 million cap hit if he does return for Indianapolis in 2021, a price tag which the team may be hesitant to dole out given the inconsistent quality of his play in 2020.

Cleared for Week 17 Doyle (quadriceps) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Impact Doyle didn't practice Thursday, but he's been cleared for Week 17 action after a full session Friday. He'll likely continue to split tight-end reps with Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox.
JANUARY 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Registers 50 yards Doyle caught four of six targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Steelers.
Impact Doyle led the Colts' tight end group with 38 of 69 snaps on offense. He registered season highs in receiving yards and receptions. However, those achievements clearly point to the down year that Doyle has endured, as he's posted a 20-234-3 line through 13 games.
DECEMBER 28, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared to play Doyle (quad) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Steelers after being listed as a full practice participant Friday.
Impact Doyle will be out there Sunday, but he hasn't offered much fantasy value this season while competing for tight end targets with Mo Alie-Cox and Trey Burton. Overall, he's logged a 16/184/3 stat line through 12 contests, and in his last outing Doyle caught both targets for 14 yards in the Colts' Week 15 win over the Texans.

Misses practice with quad issue Doyle was added to the Colts' Week 16 report Thursday after a quadriceps injury prevented him from practicing.
Impact Doyle has previously appeared on reports this season with a concussion along with neck, ankle and knee injuries, but the quad issue is a new concern for the tight end. Given that he wasn't listed on Wednesday's report at all, Doyle likely picked up the injury in practice rather than during last week's win over the Texans. Doyle will now likely need to get back on the practice field in some capacity Friday to have a good chance at playing Sunday against the Steelers.
DECEMBER 24, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Targeted twice in win Doyle caught both targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Texans.
Impact Doyle led his position group with 41 snaps on offense (76 percent), while Mo Alie-Cox and Trey Burton finished with 25 and 19 snaps, respectively. Philip Rivers directed five total targets at the position Sunday, and with a fairly even split between the three tight ends, nobody produced meaningful numbers.
DECEMBER 22, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Finishes as second-leading receiver Doyle corralled all three of his targets for 44 yards during Sunday's 44-27 win against the Raiders.
Impact Michael Pittman and Nyheim Hines both exceeded Doyle's target share Week 14, but with an efficient day, the Western Kentucky product finished second on the team in receiving output. Sunday's showing marked just the second time all season Doyle has exceeded 30 receiving yards, though he only did so on four occasions during 2019 while earning the second Pro-Bowl nod of his career. Doyle's targets are way down in 2020, as Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox continue to have passing-down roles. Doyle attracted 42 targets through 11 appearances last year, but thus far he has drawn just 22 in an equivalent 2020 sample.
DECEMBER 16, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Musters up 12 yards Doyle caught his lone target for 12 yards in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Texans.
Impact Doyle's usage is slipping. For a consecutive game, he finished second among Colts' tight ends in snaps with 38 snaps (55 percent), while Mo Alie-Cox logged 44 snaps (64 percent) and caught three passes for 23 yards. The 30-year-old has an 11-126-3 line through 10 games.

Misses lone target Doyle failed to catch his only target during Sunday's 41-26 loss to the Titans.
Impact The 30-year-old received the start but saw less playing time than either Mo Alie-Cox or Trey Burton, the latter of whom caught three passes for 43 yards and a touchdown. Doyle has only one reception on five targets for six yards over three games since catching his last touchdown in Week 8. The playing time split between the three tight ends makes all of them difficult to trust in fantasy lineups, but Doyle appears to be the one Philip Rivers is looking for least in the passing game.

NOVEMBER 30, 2020 • Associated Press
Scores TD against Packers Doyle had a six-yard touchdown reception on his only target in Sunday's win over Green Bay.
Impact Doyle returned after missing a game due to a concussion and played the most among Indy's tight ends. Trey Burton played on 24 of the offense's 84 snaps while Doyle played on 45 snaps and Mo Alie-Cox played on 43 snaps. However, Doyle went out for a pass just 11 times, which was the least of the trio. Doyle appears to be the least likely to produce in the passing game as a result, but it's hard to depend on any tight end's production with all three active in the passing game.

Cleared for Week 11 Doyle (concussion) will play in Sunday's game against the Packers.
Impact Doyle officially cleared the league's five-step concussion protocol Saturday, and he won't carry an injury tag into Sunday's game. The veteran tight end has been a touchdown-dependant fantasy option, as he hasn't surpassed three receptions or 50 yards in a game this season.
NOVEMBER 21, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Deemed questionable for Week 11 Doyle (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers.
Impact Doyle wrapped up the week with full practices Thursday and Friday, but since he'll take an injury designation into Sunday since he has yet to officially clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. Assuming Doyle is able to get the green light to play from an independent neurologist before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, Doyle would likely be part of a three-man timeshare at tight end that also includes Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox.
NOVEMBER 20, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to full practice Doyle (concussion) practiced fully Thursday.
Impact Doyle has been sidelined since suffering the concussion back on Nov. 8, but his full activity in Thursday's practice represents a positive step forward in his recovery. That said, the tight end still remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, according to Stephen Holder of The Athletic. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether Doyle and position mate Mo Alie-Cox (knee) approach Sunday's game against the Packers with an injury designation.

Colts' Jack Doyle still in concussion protocol Injury updates from Frank Reich.
NOVEMBER 18, 2020 • USATODAY.COM
Still in concussion protocol Doyle remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and won't practice Wednesday, Mike Wells of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Doyle suffered his concussion back on Nov. 8, so it's concerning that he has yet to gain clearance as the Colts prepare for Sunday's game against the Packers. If Doyle remains out this week, Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox would once again be in line to handle tight-end duties Week 11.
NOVEMBER 18, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Remains in concussion protocol Coach Frank Reich said Monday that Doyle is still in the concussion protocol, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
Impact Doyle sat out last Thursday's win over the Titans while in the five-step concussion protocol, and he'll need to achieve full medical clearance prior to retaking the field. If he's unable to get the green light in time for Sunday's game against the Packers, Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox would once again be in line to split Indianapolis' top tight end reps.
