Last tight end standing
Bryant caught two of two targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Ravens in Week 7.
Impact
By the fourth quarter, the Browns were down two tight ends and Bryant was the lone representative at the position. The bye week is not until Week 9, so the tight end room will be sparse to start preparations for Week 8 against the Bengals. Both David Njoku (ankle) and Pharaoh Brown (neck) couldn't finish the loss to Baltimore. Njoku tweeted he'll "be back soon," while Adam Schefter of ESPN reports a source stating the injury "isn't serious." Brown is being evaluated for a concussion, per Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal. Pending the health status of the injured players, Bryant could take on a larger role next week at home to resurgent Cincinnati.

Losing snaps to Brown
Bryant caught three of four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 38-15 loss to New England in Week 6.
Impact
For the third time this season, Bryant recorded 18 receiving yards in a game, and he has no more than 45. His 19 targets are fourth on team, but he could be threatened by Pharaoh Brown, who was signed two weeks ago. Brown played two snaps in his debut last week and moved up to 19 in his second week, while Bryant dropped to a season-low 25 snaps Sunday. Both are playing second fiddle to David Njoku, who is experiencing a breakout season.

Targeted once in loss
Bryant did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Chargers in Week 5.
Impact
Bryant battled an illness during the week but was on the field for 57 percent of the offensive snaps. It's unlikely the illness had any impact on his targets. The second-string tight end has caught nine of 15 targets for 81 yards and has yet to score in 2022. Week 5 saw the introduction of newly signed tight end Pharaoh Brown, whose presence could eventually eat into Bryant's playing time. Brown played just two snaps Sunday.

Impact
Bryant was unable to practice Wednesday due to his illness, and he was limited Thursday. However, he won't be forced to miss any game action after logging a full practice session to close out the week. The 2020 fourth-rounder has secured nine of 14 targets for 81 yards to begin the season.

Returns to practice
Bryant (illness) was able to practice Thursday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Impact
Bryant sat out practice Wednesday due to the illness, but he returned in some form Thursday. The Browns have not released their official practice report yet, so it's not clear if he was a limited or full participant. However, either would be a step in the right direction for the third-year tight end. With David Njoku (knee) and recent signee Pharaoh Brown (hip) both questionable for Sunday against the Chargers as well, Bryant could potentially find himself in a significant role, if he plays.

Dealing with illness
Bryant didn't practice Wednesday due to an illness, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Bryant is coming off a season-high six targets in Week 4, so the timing of the aliment is unfortunate. The backup tight end will have two more practices to clear the issue before the team needs to make decision on his status for Week 5.

Gets regular looks
Bryant caught four of six targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to Atlanta.
Impact
Bryant, who went untargeted in Week 3 while he nursed thumb and thigh injuries, was back in the rotation. His six looks were a season high, and Bryant has 14 targets (three in the red zone) over four games.

Handles regular workload
Bryant was not targeted over 34 offensive snaps in Thursday's 29-17 win over Pittsburgh in Week 3.
Impact
Bryant battled thumb and thigh injuries on the short week but managed to play 47% of the offensive snaps, which is his average through three games. Not targeting him may have been part of the plan to limit exposing Bryant to injury. That worked out well for primary tight end David Njoku, who broke out with nine catches (10 targets) for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Ready to face Steelers
Bryant (thigh/thumb) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against Pittsburgh, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Impact
Bryant practiced fully Wednesday, setting him up to play on a short week. The No. 2 tight end has drawn four targets in both of the Browns' first two games of the season.

Limited in practice
Bryant (thumb/thigh) is listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact
According to Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, Bryant was spotted riding a stationary bike off to the side during the open portion of Tuesday's session, but the tight end must have fit in some work behind the scenes in order to get bumped up from a non-participant on Monday's report. If Bryant can upgrade to full activity Wednesday, it could be enough for him to approach Thursday's game against the Steelers without an injury designation.

Nursing pair of injuries
Bryant is listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report with thumb and thigh injuries, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact
Bryant apparently is banged up in the aftermath of the Browns' 31-30 loss to the Jets on Sunday, when he turned his four targets into three receptions for 45 yards across 31 snaps on offense. Though starter David Njoku has handily out-snapped him this season, Bryant holds the edge in targets (8-6) through Cleveland's first two games.

Another four-target game
Bryant caught three of four targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Jets in Week 2.
Impact
Bryant had four targets for the second consecutive week and has the edge over primary tight end David Njoku (six targets in two games) in that category. Each tight end has two red-zone targets but neither has scored in 2022.

Returns to game Sunday
Bryant (head) returned to Sunday's game against the Jets, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Impact
Bryant was ultimately able to make his way back onto the field after he previously exited to be evaluated for a concussion against the Jets. As a result, the 24-year-old should slot back in as the Brown's second option at tight end behind David Njoku.

Exits with possible concussion
Bryant (head) is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game against the Jets, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Impact
Bryant is likely questionable to return after he appears to have suffered a potential concussion at some point during Sunday's contest. With the No. 2 tight end sidelined for the time being, Jesse James should see a bigger role in Cleveland's offense versus Carolina.

Impact
Bryant hauled in a few short passes Monday and was on the receiving end of a deep ball from Deshaun Watson on Saturday. With the Browns moving on from Austin Hooper during the offseason, Bryant is expected to pick up extra playing time behind starter David Njoku. It was only two seasons ago as a rookie that Bryant outplayed Njoku and earned more playing time than him.

ROTOWIRE
Hopeful finish
Bryant caught one of three targets for nine yards in Week 18's 21-16 win over the Bengals.
Impact
Bryant saw his three-game touchdown streak end, but the second-year tight end had a pair of red-zone targets, giving him five looks inside the 20 over the final four weeks of the season. He didn't pop much in 2021, settling in as the third tight end, but he managed to post numbers similar to his mildly surprising rookie campaign of 2020, when he out-snapped veteran David Njoku. The three touchdowns in the final quarter of the season helped. Looking ahead to 2022, both he and starting tight end Austin Hooper are under contract and there's talk that the Browns will bring back Njoku. That would mean little change among the position group. If Njoku doesn't return, then Bryant takes on a larger role next season.
