INJURIES

Returns with 40 yards Everett (reserve/COVID-19) returned to action Sunday, catching two passes (three targets) for 40 yards in a 23-20 loss to Pittsburgh.
Impact Everett returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list and finished second in total receiving yards for Seattle on a night during which Geno Smith struggled to move the ball downfield. Will Dissly (two catches, eight yards and a touchdown) wound up getting the lone receiving touchdown for Seattle, which is unfortunate for those who deployed Everett. It may be a rough go of things for the Seahawks' passing attack until Russell Wilson (finger) returns from IR, so there may be better options than Everett in the meantime.

Activated from COVID list The Seahawks reinstated Everett (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact After landing on the list Sept. 29 and sitting out Week 4 in San Francisco, Everett looked like he might have had a chance to play last Thursday in the Seahawks' loss to the Rams. However, the results of his second consecutive negative COVID-19 test didn't become available in time, resulting in Everett missing his second straight contest. Since Everett likely would have been available to play last week had the Seahawks suited up Sunday, his activation Monday as Seattle resumes practicing comes as little surprise. Seattle's top tight end will return to a new-look offense that is expected to be without Russell Wilson (finger) for at least the next month, leaving veteran journeyman Geno Smith to direct the offense beginning with Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.

Doesn't meet protocols for return Everett (illness) tested negative twice for COVID-19 in advance of Thursday's game against the Rams, but the results didn't come through in time for the NFL to approve him to play,...
Impact Everett needed to test negative twice 24 hours apart to be eligible for activation from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Apparently, he just missed out on doing so and will miss a second consecutive contest as a result. Everett will have plenty of time to get back on the active roster with the Seahawks' next outing on Sunday, Oct. 17 at Pittsburgh. In the meantime, Will Dissly, Colby Parkinson and even Tyler Mabry will handle TE duties for Seattle.

Not activated for TNF Everett wasn't activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list in advance of Thursday night's game against the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact In Everett's continued absence, Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson are in line to head the Seahawks' Week 5 tight end corps. Neither of the two look like high-percentage fantasy plays, however, after making a minimal impact in Seattle's Week 4 win over the 49ers.

Could return for TNF Everett (illness) has a chance to play in Thursday's game against the Rams, needing one more negative test for COVID-19, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Everett was placed on the COVID list last Wednesday and missed Sunday's win over the 49ers. In his absence, Will Dissly played 82 percent of snaps and Colby Parkinson took 68 percent, though neither did much damage in the passing game. It sounds like the Seahawks are tentatively expecting Everett back for Thursday night, though it wasn't yet official at the conclusion of Wednesday's practice.

Impact Everett landed on the COVID list last Wednesday after testing positive, but because he's vaccinated, he only needs to test negative again Tuesday to return to the active roster. Of course, if he doesn't he'll have to do so Wednesday and Thursday to give himself a chance to suit up Week 5. This past Sunday at San Francisco with Everett sidelined, Will Dissly led Seahawks tight ends with an 82-percent share of the offensive snaps, Colby Parkinson got 68 percent, and Tyler Mabry brought up the rear with 14 percent.

Status uncertain for Thursday Everett (COVID-19) may not be able to play in Thursday's game against the Rams, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Everett landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday and was unable to produce back-to-back negative tests ahead of a Week 4 win over the 49ers. If the 27-year-old is unable to return in Week 5 on a short week of practice, Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson will be in line for increased work.

Seahawks expect Lockett, Metcalf to play against 49ers

The Seattle Seahawks expect wide receiver Tyler Lockett to play Sunday against San Francisco despite a hip injury that slowed him in practice
OCTOBER 1, 2021 • Associated Press
Not looking good for Sunday Everett (illness) isn't likely to be available for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Impact The tight end is on the reserve/COVID-19 list and reportedly hadn't registered a negative test as of Friday afternoon. He'll now need back-to-back negatives starting Saturday, which Carroll apparently considers unlikely. The Seahawks are expected to bring Colby Parkinson (foot) back from IR this week, but Will Dissly is the safer bet for snaps (and a few targets) if Everett doesn't end up playing. The team will really be thin on pass catchers if Tyler Lockett (questionable, hip) and Dee Eskridge (doubtful, concussion) are also unavailable Sunday.
