INJURIES

Back on field for OTAs Ezukanma (neck) participated in OTAs on Tuesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact Ezukanma played in just two games at the beginning of 2023 before being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list in September due to a neck injury. He was cleared of his injury before the end of last season, and he admitted to reporters Tuesday that he had been concerned that he would not be able to play again, per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post. Ezukanma has appeared in three regular-season games since the Dolphins drafted him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and he will battle for a spot on Miami's wide receiver depth chart in 2024.

Inactive Sunday Ezukanma (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against Minnesota.
Impact Although Ezukanma returned to practice Friday after sustaining an eye injury, he won't take the field due to the coach's decision. This will be his sixth consecutive game being a healthy scratch this season.

Sustains eye injury Ezukanma was a limited participant with an eye injury during practice Thursday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Ezukanma appears to have picked up an eye injury at some point this week after clearing Wednesday's practice report. While the exact nature and severity of this issue are still unclear, it will leave his availability moving forward up in the air. Ezukanma has been a healthy scratch over the first five games of his rookie season.

Will not play Sunday Ezukanma (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Impact Ezukanma impressed in camp, but the fourth-round selected rookie will remain inactive again in Week 2. He'll continue to try and work his way up the team's depth chart and suit up in Week 3, when the Dolphins host the Bills.

Making waves at camp Ezukanma has impressed coach Mike McDaniel with a strong start to training camp, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact "I've been very encouraged with how [Ezukanma has] handled himself and corrected things," McDaniel said. "The mistakes are changing, they're not the same ones and that's what you want." Ezukanma has reportedly been the most impressive receiver at training camp other than Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and Oyefusi even speculates that the rookie fourth-rounder's emergence has put Preston Williams and Lynn Bowden on the roster bubble. If he can keep up this momentum, Ezukanma could make a push to open the season in the No. 4 wideout role.

2022 NFL Draft Grades: Jets leave rest of AFC East in their dust
Lands in South Beach The Dolphins selected Ezukanma in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 125th overall.
Impact Ezukanma red-shirted his freshman season at Texas Tech before leading the team in receiving yards in each of his final three seasons with the Red Raiders. The 22-year-old finished with 136 catches for 2,117 yards and 14 touchdowns in that stretch, and he also added 10 carries for 138 yards and two scores in his senior season. He didn't run the 40-yard dash, and we don't expect him to have better than average speed, but his production is impressive. His 6-foot-2, 209-pound frame, long arms and 37-inch vertical provides some utility for the next level, too. He'll have to wait for an opportunity behind Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Cedrick Wilson.
