Impact Bailey appeared in all three of the Panthers' preseason games, racking up 58 rushing yards on 14 carries. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, the running back could very well remain with Carolina as a member of the team's practice squad.

Signs futures deal with Panthers Carolina signed Bailey to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Bailey spent the entire 2024 season on the Chiefs' and then the Panthers' practice squads, and now he'll be starting next season in the same place he left off. The main candidates for significant roles in Carolina's backfield in 2025 include Chuba Hubbard (knee), Jonathon Brooks (knee) and Miles Sanders.

Impact It was a roller-coaster week for Bailey -- he was waived by Kansas City on Tuesday, signed to the practice squad Wednesday, cut Friday and then re-signed to the practice squad Saturday. The Chiefs also signed defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu to their practice squad Saturday while cutting defensive linemen Matt Dickerson and Neil Farrell.

Impact Bailey was unable to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster, losing out to Carson Steele for the No. 4 running back role. He was invited to the practice squad Wednesday, but he will be let go to make room for quarterback Bailey Zappe on the taxi squad.
