Makes lone kick vs. Commanders Pineiro converted on his lone extra-point attempt in Sunday's 40-7 loss to the Commanders.

Impact Pineiro saw just one opportunity to kick in Sunday's blowout loss, and this could become a recurring theme with the Panthers' recent offensive struggles. The 29-year-old has now made all 11 of his point-after tries and nine of his 10 field-goal attempts through Carolina's first seven games. He's expected to continue being reliable; however, it's unclear how many kicking opportunities he'll have in Week 8, when the Panthers travel to Denver.

Impact Pineiro had not missed a kick through the Panthers' first four contests, but that streak came to an end in Sunday's loss. The 29-year-old missed a 45-yard field-goal attempt wide left just before halftime, which would have cut Chicago's lead to 17 points. Pineiro responded by making a chip-shot 27-yard field goal in the third quarter, and he'll look to continue producing in Week 6 when the Panthers face the Falcons.

Impact Pineiro has yet to miss a kick through four weeks, as the 29-year-old is now six-for-six on field-goal attempts and seven-for-seven on extra-point tries. He split the uprights on his longest kick of the year Sunday, a 48-yard field goal to cut Cincinnati's lead to seven points in the fourth quarter. Pineiro is projected to continue seeing increased kicking opportunities with Andy Dalton remaining the Panthers' starting quarterback in Week 5.

Avoids injury report entirely Pineiro (hamstring) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report.

Impact Pineiro dealt with hamstring soreness down the stretch during training camp, but he's now back to full health and is practicing without any limitations. Over the past two seasons Pineiro has converted just over 90 percent of both his field-goal attempts and extra-point tries with Carolina, but the Panthers' offense may struggle to provide him ample scoring opportunities Sunday in a tough road matchup against the Saints.

Should be fine for Week 1 The Panthers don't plan to add another kicker while Pineiro deals with hamstring soreness, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 reports.

Impact It's a strong indicator that Pineiro is expected to be fine for Week 1 at New Orleans despite missing the second half of Carolina's final preseason game. He said he could've kicked if needed during the exhibition.

Impact Pineiro relayed that he could have kicked in the second half if needed and said that the team wanted to "err on the side of caution" with the hamstring injury. He made both of his extra-point attempts and a 45-yard field goal in the first half of Saturday's contest. Pineiro should be good to go for the Panthers' regular season opener against the Saints on Sept. 8.

Questionable to return Pineiro has a hamstring injury and is questionable to return to Saturday's preseason game against the Bills, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Impact Pineiro is the only kicker on Carolina's roster after the team waived undrafted rookie Harrison Mevis on Aug. 11. The kicker signed a two-year, $4.1-million deal with the team before last season and went on to make 25 of 29 field-goal attempts and 17 of 20 PATs.

Set to reprise starting job The Panthers waived undrafted free agent Harrison Mevis on Sunday, leaving Pineiro as the only kicker on the team's roster, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Impact While Pineiro was not really expected to lose his job to Mevis this offseason, the latter's departure should clear up any questions about this position for Carolina heading into the regular season. The veteran missed the final two games of the 2023 campaign with a hamstring injury, but he performed well over his 15 regular-season appearances, converting 25 of 29 field-goal attempts and 17 of 20 PATs. Pineiro is entering the final season of a two-year, $4.1 million deal with the Panthers.

AUGUST 11, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Injury to end season Pineiro (hamstring) made 25 of 29 field-goal attempts and 17 of 20 extra-point tries en route to 92 points in 15 games during the regular season.

Impact Pineiro missed Carolina's last two games with a hamstring injury. Despite the Panthers' abysmal offense often restricting his scoring opportunities, Pineiro still clinched both of the team's victories with field goals as time expired. Although there is a potential out in Pineiro's contract for a new front office to evaluate this offseason, the veteran is currently slated to return to Carolina for the 2024 campaign.

JANUARY 14, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Sitting out in Week 18 Pineiro (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Impact An active Pineiro didn't fulfill his typical placekicking duties for the Panthers last Sunday at Jacksonville after hurting his hamstring in pregame warmups. The injury kept him out of all drills during Week 18 prep, and an ensuing doubtful designation unsurprisingly led to inactive status this Sunday. Pineiro thus will yield his gig to Matthew Wright in the season finale.

JANUARY 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Unable to practice Wednesday Pineiro (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Pineiro didn't see the field in this past Sunday's loss to the Jaguars after experiencing hamstring tightness in warm-ups, and the injury continues to bother him as the Panthers prepare to host the Buccaneers in Sunday's season finale. Carolina signed Matthew Wright to the practice squad as insurance Tuesday, so Wright would handle kicking duties if Pineiro's unable to play.

Doesn't play after pregame injury Pineiro didn't log any snaps on special teams in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Jaguars after experiencing tightness in his right hamstring during pregame warmups, Mike Kaye of The Char...

Impact Pineiro was active for the contest, but after suffering the pregame injury, Carolina deemed him questionable to be available, according to Kaye. Linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill handled the opening kickoff in Pineiro's stead, and Carolina then bypassed a field-goal attempt on 4th-and-7 at the Jacksonville 21-yard line in pursuit of an unsuccessful first down. Carolina ultimately went three-and-out on its ensuing six possessions and fell into a 19-0 hole, after which attempting field goals became a moot point. Pineiro will presumably be sent in for further evaluation in the coming days, and if there's any concern he won't be available for the Week 18 finale versus the Buccaneers, Carolina will presumably add another kicker to its 53-man roster or practice squad.
