Impact Plitt went undrafted out of Ball State earlier this year and spent part of the offseason with the Bengals. With Joe Burrow (wrist) done for the season, Plitt gives the team another quarterback behind Jake Browning and A.J. McCarron.

Waived by Bengals Plitt was waived by the Bengals on Tuesday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Plitt was signed by the Bengals in late July when Joe Burrow (appendix) was forced to be away from the team, but Plitt will now look for another opportunity. Wherever the rookie ends up, he'll likely open the season on the practice squad.

Signs with Bengals Plitt signed a contract with the Bengals on Wednesday.

Impact Plitt will join the Bengals ahead of their training camp Wednesday. The undrafted free agent will operate as the team's third quarterback at practice while Joe Burrow (knee) is away from the team following an appendectomy Tuesday. Plitt threw for 2,541 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 131 yards and two scores on the ground over 13 games with Ball State last year.
