Set for Week 16 start Lock (heel/left elbow) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta.
Impact Coach Brian Daboll told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com on Wednesday that Lock was set to regain the Giants' starting quarterback job for Week 16 after serving as the emergency third QB behind Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle in a Week 15 loss to the Ravens. Lock followed up Wednesday's limited session with back-to-back full practices this week, thereby locking him in to another start. Meanwhile, DeVito, who suffered a concussion against Baltimore, cleared concussion protocol Friday and will settle into the No. 2 role this weekend, per Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. While operating as the starter Weeks 13 and 14, Lock completed 42 of 81 passes (51.9 percent) for 405 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions, recorded nine carries for 116 yards and one TD and lost a fumble.

Manages full practice Lock (heel/elbow) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact Lock, who was limited in practice Wednesday and missed the Giants' Week 15 loss to the Ravens, now seems fully on track for Sunday's road matchup against the Falcons. Head coach Brian Daboll has already announced that, if available, Lock will start versus Atlanta on Sunday, priming him for matchup against Falcons rookie quarterback Michael Penix. Tommy DeVito (concussion) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday and seems to be trending in the right direction for Week 16, meaning he could be available as Lock's backup.

On track to start Week 16 Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Lock (heel/elbow) will practice Wednesday and is expected to start Sunday's game against the Falcons, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Lock started for the Giants in losses to the Cowboys and Saints in Weeks 13 and 14, respectively, completing 42 of 81 pass attempts for 405 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 116 yards and a touchdown on nine carries between those contests. Last Monday, Daboll said that Lock would remain the Giants' starter if healthy, but a sore heel plus a lingering left elbow injury kept him out for this past Sunday's 35-14 loss to the Ravens. Tommy DeVito started that game before exiting with a concussion, resulting in Tim Boyle finishing out the contest. Though DeVito will have a chance at clearing concussion protocol prior to Sunday, the Giants are preparing to go back to Lock under center, provided he's able to make it through the week of practice without any setbacks.

Sidelined for Week 15 game Lock (heel/elbow) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens as New York's emergency No. 3 quarterback, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact Lock is dealing with a left elbow injury and a sore heel, though the latter issue is considered the greater concern after the quarterback had been in a walking boot this past week. He was unable to practice Wednesday through Friday, though the Giants still left the door open for Lock to be available as a backup to Tommy DeVito on Sunday by listing him as doubtful heading into the weekend. As a result of his inactive status, Lock won't be available to play Sunday unless DeVito or backup Tim Boyle -- who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday -- are forced out of the contest due to injury. Head coach Brian Daboll previously said that Lock will be the Giants' starter when healthy, so the 28-year-old could resume directing the offense Week 16 against the Falcons if he shows improvement in his recovery from his two injuries.

Doubtful for Sunday Lock (heel/left elbow) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game versus the Ravens, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact Lock emerged from this past Sunday's loss to the Saints with a heel injury that required a walking boot. As the week went on, coach Brian Daboll conceded that Tommy DeVito would start in place of Lock, but the latter still had a chance to be the emergency third quarterback Sunday, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. Considering Lock now is doubtful to suit up, though, practice-squad member Tim Boyle will be elevated to the action roster Saturday to serve as the backup.

May be emergency QB Lock (heel/elbow) is no longer using a walking boot and may be available as the emergency No. 3 quarterback for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Giants coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Tommy DeVito is expected to start Sunday's game, although Lock is still considered the starter once healthy. Tim Boyle likely will be elevated from the practice squad as the No. 2 QB, with Lock only available on an emergency basis but then potentially returning to the starting job Week 16 or 17,

Rested Ravens are a big favorite over struggling Giants, who are mired in an 8-game losing streak

DECEMBER 13, 2024 • Associated Press
Sidelined for practice again Head coach Brian Daboll said that Lock (heel) won't participate in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact Lock remains confined to a walking boot and has yet to log any practice reps so far this week, making it unlikely that he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Daboll has already said that Tommy DeVito is on track to serve as the Giants' starting quarterback in Week 15, but the team could wait and see how Lock recovers from his heel injury over the next few days before determining if he's capable of handling backup duties. If the Giants end up ruling Lock out for Sunday's game, however, Tim Boyle would likely be elevated from the practice squad to serve as DeVito's backup.

Likely to miss out on Week 15 start Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Lock is tending to a heel injury and is likely to cede starting quarterback duties to Tommy DeVito in Sunday's game against the R...
Impact Lock is in a walking boot and won't practice Wednesday, leaving DeVito to take all of the first-team reps as he prepares for what would be his second start of the season Sunday. When New York waived Daniel Jones in November, DeVito received the first chance to step in as the Giants' starter in a Week 12 loss to Tampa Bay, but DeVito suffered a forearm injury in that contest that opened the door for Lock to start the past two games. Though Daboll said Monday that Lock would remain the starting quarterback if healthy, the 28-year-old looks like he'll have to miss at least one game after emerging from this past Sunday's 14-11 loss to the Saints with the heel injury. The Giants haven't yet discounted Lock from being available for the Week 15 contest, but assuming he's formally ruled out following the release of Friday's injury report, Tim Boyle will likely be elevated from the practice squad to serve as DeVito's backup against Baltimore.
