Inactive again in Week 4 Allar (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against Cleveland, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Impact Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph are active for the AFC North showdown with the Browns, and Will Howard (coach's decision) will serve as the emergency quarterback. As a result, Allar will be a healthy scratch for the fourth consecutive week.

Healthy scratch again Allar (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

Impact Allar is the odd man out in the Steelers' quarterback room. Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph are the active options, while Will Howard (coach's decision) seems to be the primary option as the emergency third quarterback. The rookie third-rounder will likely continue to be a healthy scratch unless he surpasses Howard and Rudolph for the backup role.

Healthy scratch Week 1 Allar (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Impact The Steelers opted to carry four quarterbacks on the 53-man active roster. Allar will observe Sunday's regular-season opener in street clothes while Will Howard (coach's decision) serves as Pittsburgh's emergency third quarterback behind starter Aaron Rodgers and backup Mason Rudolph. Allar figures to be a healthy scratch for most, if not all, games this season unless one of Rodgers, Rudolph or Howard were to miss time.

Makes little impact in preseason finale Allar completed nine of 18 passes for 88 yards without a touchdown or interception in Thursday's 28-27 preseason loss to the Bills.

Impact Will Howard (head) played the entire first half and Allar the second with both Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph getting the night off, but neither young quarterback did much to distinguish themselves in the battle for the No. 3 spot. Howard was evaluated for a potential concussion after the game, which could be enough to tip the scales in Allar's favor, although the Steelers always seemed likely to find a way to keep all four QBs on the roster. If Allar does make the cut, the 2026 third-round pick would need injuries ahead of him to see the field in a meaningful way as a rookie.
