Impact Per Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com, Bootle suffered an unspecified injury during Wednesday's joint practice with the Dolphins. Bootle will be required to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Detroit. He signed with the Lions in mid-July after playing for the Chargers in 2024, posting three tackles (two solo) across seven regular-season games in a special teams role.

Impact Bootle was elevated from the practice squad in Week 6 for the Chargers, but he'll now get a potentially more permanent move to the active roster. With Deane Leonard (hamstring) now on IR and both Ja'Sir Taylor (lower leg) and Kristian Fulton (hamstring) questionable for Monday's game against the Cardinals, the Bolts could be in dire need of help in the secondary. Bootle will work to provide that moving forward.
