Impact Nicholson is officially headed to Carolina after having worked out with the team Friday. The 24-year-old will now spend the remainder of the offseason competing for a depth spot on the team's final roster.

Works out for Carolina Nicholson (undisclosed) took part in a workout for the Panthers on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Impact Nicholson signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent this spring but reverted to IR due to an undisclosed issue in late May. He and the Browns ultimately worked out an injury settlement, making Nicholson a free agent. He's presumably now healthy and looking to get an opportunity with another organization.

Impact With the injury settlement, Nicholson avoided spending the entire 2026 season on the Browns' injured reserve list. While it's still unclear the severity of his injury, the 24-year-old can now sign to a new team should the opportunity arise.

Impact It's not immediately clear what kind of injury Nicholson is working through, but he's now on track to spend the entire 2026 season on IR unless he's able to negotiate an injury settlement with the team. For now, his absence could free up additional opportunities for fellow rookie undrafted free agent cornerbacks Nate Evans and Michael Coats.

Impact The USC product has yet to appear in an NFL game after posting 42 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and four passes defensed, with one interception, across 13 appearances during his final collegiate season in 2025. Nicholson, who went undrafted this past April, will land on Cleveland's injured reserve list if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
