Signs with Rams' practice squad The Rams signed Connors to the practice squad Monday, Zach Edwards of the team's official site reports.

Impact Connors put together a strong preseason, turning 26 carries into 96 yards while adding seven catches on eight targets for 53 yards across three games. He also contributed on special teams with a 25-yard kickoff return and a tackle. It wasn't quite enough for Connors to crack the 53-man roster, but after being waived Sunday, the University of Houston product will stay with the Rams as a member of the team's practice squad. He would be candidate to be elevated to the active roster if one of Kyren Williams, Blake Corum or Ronnie Rivers were to miss time.

Waived despite impressive preseason Connors was waived by the Rams on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Impact Connors scored three touchdowns in the preseason, but that production wasn't enough for the undrafted free agent out of Houston to make the team. Per Garafolo, the Rams would like to add Connors to their practice squad if he clears waivers, though it's possible another team will claim Connors.

Impact Connors led the Rams in rush attempts and rushing yards on the night, as the undrafted rookie got an extended look in the wake of the trade of fellow back Jarquez Hunter to the Dolphins earlier Thursday. Connors rushed 26 times for 96 yards and added a 7-53-3 receiving line over three preseason games, with his latest trip to the end zone an eight-yard touchdown receptions early in the fourth quarter. Connors seemingly has a solid chance of sticking on the 53-man roster as the No. 3 running back given his versatility and body of work this summer.
