Impact Powell was cut from the Steelers' practice squad in early December of 2025 before rejoining the team this August. The wide receiver seems to have enjoyed sticking around Pittsburgh, so if he clears Monday's waiver wire there is a strong chance the 28-year-old will rejoin the team's practice squad.

Back with Steelers Pittsburgh signed Powell on Monday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Powell spent some time on the Steelers' practice squad last season before being cut back in December, but he's now getting a fresh start with the club. His last regular-season snaps came back in 2022 with Kansas City, where he played predominantly on special teams.

Impact It's a short stint for Powell, who signed with the practice squad Nov. 25 and was not elevated for last Sunday's loss against the Bills. The move was coupled with the re-signing of defensive back Daequan Hardy. Hardy will see his second stint on the Steelers this season after previously being signed to the practice squad Nov. 4. Powell will now go on waivers, and if he clears them, will become a free agent.

Impact Powell was one of two wideouts signed by Houston, which also inked Juwann Winfree. Both receivers join the team, after the Texans traded John Metchie to the Eagles. Powell, 27, has spent time with the Chiefs, Seahawks and played for the DC Defenders of the United Football League. He's appeared in three NFL games and did not accumulate any stats.
