Impact Core tried out with the 49ers a few weeks ago and now he'll have the chance to be on a practice roster, though it remains to be seen if he'll have the opportunity to play an NFL snap before the current season comes to a close. He hasn't played in the league since 2019, when he registered three catches for 28 yards while playing 16 games for the Giants.

Impact Core's departure will clear up $2 million in cap space for New York next season. The special-teams ace and depth wideout suffered a torn Achilles' tendon during practice last August, from which he's still recovering as the move was designated as a failed physical, per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
