Cut from IR with injury settlement The Panthers waived Cherelus (shoulder) from their injured reserve list with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact Less than a week after sending Cherelus to IR with a shoulder injury, Carolina has decided to let him go entirely. Unless he's claimed by another team during the current waiver period, he'll become an unrestricted free agent eligible to suit up for any other team once he's healthy.

Impact Cherelus has not practiced since sustaining a shoulder injury in the Panthers' Week 2 win over the Falcons. The linebacker will now need to miss at least four games before he can return to the team's active roster from injured reserve. Tyrel Dodson will likely take Cherelus' place as a special-teamer and reserve linebacker for the Panthers' defense.
