Impact Kolar broke his forearm in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' 30-23 win over the Chargers this past Monday. The third-year tight end will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 18 against the Browns on Sunday, Jan. 5 the earliest he can return.

Impact Kolar was able to finish the game after breaking his arm early in the fourth quarter, but he's understandably expected to miss at least the next four weeks as he recovers. In his absence, Mark Andrews could be asked to take on more blocking duties than he has in recent weeks.

Impact Kolar remains third on the depth chart at tight end behind Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, but the Iowa State product has held a fairly consistent role of late. His snap share has ranged between 27 and 43 percent over each of the last five contests, with Kolar producing a 5-108-1 receiving line on six targets during that stretch.

Impact Kolar continues to have a role as a blocker as he's played at least a third of Baltimore's snaps on offense in back-to-back weeks, but his usage in the passing game is minimal. Isaiah Likely and Mark Andrews are struggling to draw targets, so it stands to reason that Kolar is also not getting much work in that facet of the game. The Ravens face the Bengals on the road in Week 5.

Impact Baltimore went heavy on the run game Sunday in Dallas with 45 of 63 plays coming on the ground. That game script makes sense to bump up Kolar's usage as he's the best blocker in the tight end room while Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely are more renowned for their pass-catching chops. Kolar made the most of his one target by turning it into a 30-yard gain but his skill set won't scale up into a significant pass-catching role without an injury elsewhere in the tight end room. Baltimore hosts Buffalo on Sunday Night Football in Week 4.

Impact Kolar's 28 snaps on offense marked a season-high and he also scored the first touchdown of his NFL career. In the five games since Mark Andrews was lost for the season, Kolar has caught all three of his targets for 51 yards and a score on 19 routes. Isaiah Likely has established himself as the clear top tight end in Andrews' absence, and Kolar's playing time uptick Sunday was mostly attributable to the lopsided margin on the scoreboard. Kolar may be busy again in Week 18 against the Steelers if the Ravens opt to rest their starters, but he's unlikely to be a major factor once the playoffs get underway.
