Signs with Packers' practice squad Green Bay signed Kaufusi to the practice squad Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

Impact Kaufusi established himself as a favorite of quarterback Aaron Rodgers this preseason, so it's no surprise to see him get a chance to continue his development via the practice squad. Since joining the NFL as a third-round pick of the Ravens back in 2016, Kaufusi has only appeared in nine career contests.

Impact Kaufusi has only played in nine NFL games over the past four years. The 2016 third-round pick was a long shot -- despite rave reviews from Aaron Rodgers -- to make the initial 53-man roster, as the Packers have experience and depth throughout their tight end corps. Green Bay will likely look to bring him back on its practice squad if he doesn't draw interest elsewhere.

Impact Gase also said that the former defensive lineman could contribute on both sides of the ball, in which case he would provide the Jets with rare versatility. Kaufusi logged 3.5 tackles and a half-sack in three appearances last season.
