Gets new deal Proehl signed a reserve/future contract with the Vikings on Monday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Impact Proehl spent the 2022 campaign on the team's practice squad after doing the same in 2021. The 24-year-old joined Minnesota as a UDFA, and although he's remained with the team since, he has yet to suit up during the regular season. He'll now get another opportunity to make that happen next year.

Impact Proehl joined the Vikings' practice squad Thursday, after he was let go by the team Tuesday and had spent much of the season on both of Minnesota's active and reserve PUP lists. The 23-year-old now figures to add emergency depth in case any of the team's WRs miss time.

Impact Proehl missed the entire 2021 campaign after tearing his ACL during training camp last season. He started the 2022 season on the PUP list, which sidelined him for the first four games, but he's returned to practice at the earliest possible time. Regardless, the wideout likely still has a few hurdles to clear before he'll be ready for game action. His participation in practice starts a 21-day window for him to be added to the active roster, but he if he isn't, he'll revert back to the PUP list for the remainder of the campaign.
