Impact Skowronek was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury prior to Week 3, and he'll be set for his first appearance since. He'll primarily play on special teams and is very unlikely to make any impact as a pass catcher.

Activated off IR The Steelers activated Skowronek (shoulder) off injured reserve Saturday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Skowronek was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster each of the first two weeks of the season, and he was then signed to the active roster in mid-September. However, the wideout was immediately placed on IR upon the signing. Skowronek was designated to return earlier this week, and with his activation, he could return to the field Sunday against Washington. If he is active for the contest, Skowronek probably won't see much work on offense given that Pittsburgh's wideout corps is largely healthy and that he didn't see a target during either of the two games he has been active for so far this season.

Impact Skowronek has been on Pittsburgh's injured reserve list since he was signed due to a shoulder issue, but it now appears he could be approaching a return to the field. The Steelers have 21 days to activate him to their active roster before they'd have to keep him on IR for the rest of the season.

Impact Skowronek has been elevated from the practice squad for each of Pittsburgh's first two games but hasn't had much of a role in their offense. His move to injured reserve will keep him sidelined for at least the next four weeks, but presumably, he'll be a part of the 53-man roster once he's healthy after his signing to the active roster Wednesday.

Impact Skowronek has been elevated from the Steelers' practice squad each of the first two weeks of the season. However, that has mostly led to a special teams role, as he's only seen six snaps on offense. This injury could impact his role this Sunday against the Chargers and keep him on the practice squad, as Calvin Austin (undisclosed) and Roman Wilson (ankle) deal with injuries as well. Pittsburgh currently has Quez Watkins, Brandon Johnson and Shaquan Davis at receiver on their practice squad as well, if needed.

Impact Skowronek will be called up for the Steelers' regular-season opener against the Falcons on Sunday due to rookie wideout Roman Wilson (ankle) being ruled out. With the Rams in 2023, Skowronek registered eight catches (on 12 targets) for 66 yards and one touchdown across 17 regular-season games. The 2021 seventh-round pick will be able to contribute to special teams while providing depth at wide receiver.

Impact Skowronek spent training camp with the Texans and caught four of eight targets for 32 yards over three preseason contests. He was unable to make Houston's 53-man roster, however, and will now look to make his way back to NFL action via Pittsburgh's practice squad. Skowronek spent his first three professional campaigns with the Rams, compiling 58 receptions on 93 targets for 575 yards and one touchdown while rushing three times for 26 yards and another score over 45 regular-season games.

Impact The trade acquisition had been impressing during training camp practices, and Skowronek carried over the momentum into his official in-game debut with the Texans. The 2021 seventh-round pick of the Rams finished second in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night for Houston, with the highlight of his performance his leaping snare of a Davis Mills laser for a 27-yard gain on the Texans' second possession. Skowronek recorded a solid 39-376 line and also scored a rushing touchdown with Los Angeles in 2022, so he certainly has the ability to make a strong play for a deep reserve receiver role on what is a deep pass-catching corps.

Impact The caveat here is that Skowronek is working with the second-team offense against Houston's second stringers on defense.
