Atlanta Falcons Player News: All Positions

News: Coach Dan Quinn relayed Monday that Jones is still rehabbing his foot injury, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact: On the plus side, the star wideout was spotted on the practice field as the Falcons opened training camp Monday. Though Jones, who is currently hoping to sign a contract extension with the team, is understandably being eased into things, at this stage there is nothing to suggest that his current foot issue is a major concern. The 30-year-old is no stranger to the team's in-season injury report but hasn't missed a regular-season game since 2016.
News: Hooper (ankle) was cleared for the start of training camp, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Entering the fourth and final season of his rookie contract, Hooper was held out of June minicamp with a minor ankle injury. It isn't clear if the Falcons are interested in signing him to an extension, considering they recently completed big deals for DT Grady Jarrett and LB Deion Jones (foot) and now need to hammer out a new contract for Julio Jones (foot). Hooper's spot atop the TE depth chart is unquestioned, while his future with the team is far less secure.
News: Jones (foot) is reporting for the start of training camp, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact: Jones hasn't received the new contract he desires, but he apparently is confident about a deal eventually being completed. He was a spectator during mandatory minicamp in June, not wanting to aggravate an issue with his foot. The 30-year-old wideout may reconsider his amicable stance if negotiations don't wrap up soon.
