Ar'Darius Washington - NFL News, Rumors, & Updates

Healthy scratch for Week 4 Washington (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest versus the Cardinals, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Impact Washington started last Sunday against Tennessee but logged a modest 27 percent defensive snap share. His opportunity in that game was due to Tyler Nubin being inactive because of a calf injury, but with Nubin back for Week 4, Washington's services aren't needed.

OCTOBER 4 • ROTOWIRE

Starting at safety sans Nubin With Tyler Nubin (calf) inactive, Washington will start at safety against the Titans on Sunday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Nubin was not cleared by medical staff to play Sunday, so Washington and Jevon Holland will be the Giants' starting safeties for Week 3, with Jason Pinnock and Elijah Campbell providing depth at the position. Washington has two tackles (one solo) through two regular-season games, and the last time he was a regular starter on defense was during the second half of the 2024 campaign as a member of the Ravens.

Inks deal with Big Blue Washington signed with the Giants on Friday, Matt Citak of the team's official site reports.

Impact Washington signed with the Ravens in May of 2021 and spent the first five years of his NFL career in Baltimore, appearing in 29 regular-season games over that span. He spent most of the 2025 campaign on the reserve/PUP list due to a torn Achilles but was cleared to make his debut in mid-December. He logged seven tackles (three solo) and one forced fumble across four regular-season games while serving in a rotational role in the secondary. Washington will likely operate in a similar role with the Giants, though he will have the opportunity to compete with Tyler Nubin (neck) and Jevon Holland (knee) for a starting role at safety in 2026.

MARCH 11 • Associated Press

Cleared to return Week 15 Washington (Achilles) is active for Sunday's matchup against Cincinnati.

Impact Washington's ability to suit up Sunday was forecasted by his activation from the reserve/PUP list Saturday. If the veteran safety sees action against the Bengals, as expected, it will be his season debut after he tore his Achilles during conditioning in May. Washington may work in a rotational role and be on a snap count initially, but he could give Baltimore's secondary a big boost down the stretch given his key role with the team last season.

DECEMBER 14, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Activated from PUP The Ravens activated Washington from the reserve/PUP on Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against Cincinnati.

Impact Washington was designated to return to practice Dec. 2 but was not activated ahead of last week's loss the Steelers. The 26-year-old will be eligible to make his season debut Week 15 versus Cincy, but it's still unclear if he will indeed play. Washington tallied a career-high 64 tackles across 17 regular-season appearances with Baltimore last year.

DECEMBER 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Not returning just yet Washington (Achilles) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Impact Despite practicing all week and even logging a full session Friday, Washington will not suit up for Sunday's game. The safety has put in a lot of work to return from the Achilles tear he suffered in late May, and the team is likely taking it slow to ensure the 26-year-old is a healthy depth piece for a potential playoff run.

DECEMBER 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Returning from reserve/PUP Washington (Achilles) was designated to return from the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.

Impact Washington suffered an Achilles tear in May that has kept him relegated to the reserve/PUP list for the entire 2025 campaign until this point. The Ravens now have a 21-day window to activate the safety, or he'll remain on IR for the rest of the year.

DECEMBER 2, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Lands on reserve/PUP list The Ravens placed Washington (Achilles) to the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Washington is recovering from a torn Achilles that he suffered in May, but there's optimism that he could be fully healthy late in the regular season. He played in all 17 regular-season games for the Ravens in 2024 and finished with career highs in defensive snaps (677), tackles (64), pass defenses (eight) and interceptions (two).

AUGUST 28, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Placed on active/PUP list Washington (Achilles) was placed on the active/PUP list Thursday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Impact Washington tore his Achilles in May but is targeting a late-season return. The safety remains eligibly to practice while on the active/PUP list, though Washington's unlikely to do so considering his return timeline is expected to stretch well into the regular season, if he can play at all in 2025.

JULY 17, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Targeting late-season return Head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters Wednesday that he expects Washington (Achilles) to return by November or December, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Washington sustained a torn Achilles while training earlier in May, so it's no surprise the TCU product is expected to miss substantial time. He appeared in 17 regular-season games for the Ravens in 2024, recording 64 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, eight passes defended, with two interceptions, and one forced fumble. Sanoussi Kane is expected to serve as Kyle Hamilton's top backup while Washington remains sidelined.

Reports: Ar'Darius Washington Suffered Achilles Injury After a breakout year, Ar’Darius Washington will reportedly miss most or all of the 2025 season.

MAY 14, 2025 • BALTIMORERAVENS.COM

Suffers torn Achilles Washington tore his Achilles during conditioning, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Impact An MRI confirmed the tear, and Washington is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2025 season. It's a brutal blow for the 25-year-old safety, who emerged as a key defender in the Ravens' secondary last season and tallied career bests in total tackles (64) and interceptions (two) across 17 regular-season games. Washington's absence opens the door for rookie first-rounder Malaki Starks to earn a starting role at safety alongside Kyle Hamilton.

MAY 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Staying in Baltimore The Ravens signed Washington to a one-year deal Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Impact The undrafted safety from TCU has spent the past four seasons with the Ravens, appearing in 25 regular-season contests during that time. Washington is coming off a career year in 2024, playing in all 17 of Baltimore's regular-season games and tallying 64 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and eight passes defended, with two interceptions, across 833 total snaps (677 defensive and 156 on special teams). The 25-year-old served as the Ravens' top free safety last season and is expected to compete for role again throughout the summer.

APRIL 21, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Tendered by Baltimore The Ravens placed a Right of First Refusal Tender on Washington on Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Impact Placing a tender on Washington allows the Ravens to match any offer that another team gives the 25-year-old safety out of TCU. He mostly served on special teams and in a rotational role in the Ravens' secondary in the first half of the 2024 season, but he entered the starting lineup in Week 8 and played a more significant role down the stretch. Washington finished the 2024 regular season with a career-high 64 tackles (45 solo), including 1.0 sacks, eight pass defenses (two interceptions) and one forced fumble across 17 games.

MARCH 12, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Inserted into starting safety role Washington played in all 17 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 64 tackles (45 solo), including 1.0 sacks, eight pass defenses (two interceptions) and one forced fumble.

Impact Prior to the 2024 regular season, Washington had played in just eight regular-season games across three years since signing with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in May of 2021. He was mostly used in a rotational role at safety for the first half of the regular season, but he was inserted into the starting lineup in Week 8 against the Browns, which helped propel Baltimore's second-half defensive turnaround. Washington enters the offseason as a restricted free agent, which means the Ravens can match any offer that another team makes for the TCU product.

JANUARY 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Gets another interception Sunday Washington recorded five tackles (two solo) and an interception during Sunday's 35-14 win against the Giants.

Impact Washington came down with a jump ball thrown deep between the numbers late in the fourth quarter, preserving a 35-14 Ravens lead and setting his team up to run out the clock. He also played all 60 of Baltimore's defensive snaps Sunday, and he figures to play a near-every down role again in Week 16 versus the Steelers.

DECEMBER 16, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Good to go Week 15 Washington (personal) is active against the Giants on Sunday.

Impact Washington didn't travel with Baltimore on Saturday due to a personal matter, but he made his way to New Jersey and appears set to suit up against the Giants. He's been starting at free safety of late, playing every one of Baltimore's defensive snaps since Week 11. Washington has already logged more defensive snaps (458) this season than he did over his first three campaigns in the NFL.

DECEMBER 15, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

May sit out Week 15 Washington is dealing with a personal matter and is questionable to play against the Giants on Sunday.

Impact Washington isn't traveling with the Ravens to New Jersey on Saturday, but there's still a chance he could arrive on his own and suit up against the Giants. The fourth-year pro has stepped into an every-down role of late, logging 100 percent of Baltimore's defense snaps in each of the team's past three games. If Washington can't play Sunday, Marcus Williams could be asked to step up.

DECEMBER 14, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Solid showing in loss Washington recorded eight tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 24-19 loss versus the Eagles.

Impact Washington once again led Baltimore's cornerbacks in snaps (54) in Week 13, and he posted his second-highest tackle total of the season so far. He should remain heavily involved in the Ravens' defensive backfield after their bye in Week 14.

DECEMBER 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Productive day in defeat Washington recorded 11 tackles (six solo), including a tackle for a loss, in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the Steelers.

Impact The starting safety also played on all 74 defensive snaps. Washington now has 36 tackles (26 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and six passes defensed, including an interception, in 2024.

NOVEMBER 19, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Makes return to practice Washington passed his physical Monday and participated in practice, Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com reports.

Impact It's an encouraging sign for Washington, who's returning from a foot injury and now finds himself in an intense competition for reps at safety behind Marcus Williams, Chuck Clark, and 2022 first-round pick Kyle Hamilton. Unless Baltimore opts to keep more than four safeties on its initial 53-man roster, Tony Jefferson, Geno Stone and Washington are all probably gunning for the last spot at the position.

AUGUST 15, 2022 • ROTOWIRE

Placed on PUP list Washington (foot) has landed on the Ravens' active/PUP list as the team enters training camp, Clifton Brown of the team's official website reports.

Impact Washington broke his foot midway through the 2021 season and is apparently still recovering from the issue. He will need to be activated from the PUP list before he can return to practice. The sooner the better, as he figures to be part of a loaded defensive back competition.

JULY 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE

Shifts back to IR Washington (foot) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and moved back to injured reserve Thursday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.

Impact Washington hasn't played since Week 11 against Chicago after breaking his foot. He was placed on IR on Nov. 27 and was expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Now cleared from COVID protocols, Washington can return to the Ravens' facilities to rehab his injury.
