Coming to Carolina Tyus signed with the Panthers' practice squad Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Impact The Ohio product was dropped from Seattle's practice squad in late August but has now found a new home in Carolina. Tyus has yet to appear in an NFL game after rushing 237 times for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns during his final collegiate season in 2024.

Cut from Hawks' practice squad The Seahawks cut Tyus from the practice squad Thursday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Impact The move makes room on the Seahawks' practice squad for linebacker Chris Paul. Tyus failed to make Seattle's 53-man roster at the end of training camp after logging 21 carries for 55 yards and one catch (on two targets) for two yards across three preseason games. The undrafted rookie will look to catch on with another team's practice squad.

Impact Tyus will join fellow rookie running backs Damien Martinez (seventh round) and Jacardia Wright (undrafted) on the Seahawks' practice squad. Tyus finished the preseason with just 21 carries for 55 yards (2.6 YPC) and one catch for two yards. He's a long shot to get called up to the active roster.

Impact Tyus had signed with Detroit as an undrafted free agent back in April before being waived last month with a non-football illness designation. He had previously tried out with Seattle last week and will now look to earn a spot on the team's final roster.

Impact Tyus had a limited role during his first three collegiate seasons with Northwestern but broke out in his lone year with Ohio, rushing for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns on 237 carries while adding 137 yards and another two scores on 16 receptions. The 6-foot-1 running back will look to carve out a depth role among a Lions running-back corps that is headed by Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. Detroit didn't take a running back in the draft, and the only two other ball carriers currently on the team's roster are Craig Reynolds and Sione Vaki.
