Impact Brown sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon in the Cowboys' win versus Indianapolis in Week 13, and he'll now spend the remainder of the season on the injured reserve list. In his absence, rookie fifth-rounder DaRon Bland should operate as Dallas' second boundary corner across from Trevon Diggs.

Team owner Jerry Jones confirmed that the cornerback will be out for the remainder of the season. In his absence, Kelvin Joseph was elevated to a starting role in the Cowboys' secondary and he will likely get the first shot at replacing Brown opposite Trevon Diggs moving forward. Brown will finish the 2022 campaign with 42 tackles, seven pass deflections and a forced fumble over 12 games.

Impact Brown will undergo an MRI to confirm his diagnosis, but he'll be forced to miss the remainder of the year if he tore his Achilles. His absence would be significant for the Cowboys' defense, as he had played at least 93 percent of the team's defensive snaps in 10 of his first 11 appearances of the season. Kelvin Joseph and C.J.
