Impact Kessman was waived by the Giants in early December, and he'll now join Carolina's practice squad after Zane Gonzalez (quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. While Lirim Hajrullahu was signed to the Panthers' 53-man roster Wednesday, Kessman will be available as a replacement on short notice.

Impact Kessman's NFL debut couldn't have been much worse, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the Jets move on from him after just one game. His inaccuracy put a damper on the Jets' hot start offensively, as New York scored touchdowns on each of its first two drives, only to watch Kessman miss the ensuing PAT both times. The Jets didn't give him another opportunity, going for two after their third touchdown and opting not to attempt a field goal in the game.
