Impact Erickson played in the final three regular-season games for the Patriots this season, seeing work as a return man. He'll now latch on with the Texans filling a hole on their practice squad left by Jared Wayne's elevation to the active roster.

Impact Erickson got his third straight elevation ahead of Sunday's Wek 18 matchup against the Bills and saw action on offense for the first time this season, logging 14 offensive snaps without getting any targets. He also worked as the Patriots' primary return man, returning one kick for 16 yards and two punts for 26 yards. After catching 16 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown over eight games with the Chargers last year, Erickson was a free agent for most of the 2024 campaign, as he didn't latch on with New England's practice squad until mid-December.

Last Sunday against Buffalo, he logged seven snaps, all of which came on special teams. Erickson figures to work primarily in that role again Sunday, as New England's wideout corps is relatively healthy.

Impact The 31-year-old joined the active roster in Week 11 and after injuries to Joshua Palmer (knee) and Keenan Allen (heel) somewhat miraculously emerged as the team's top target finishing with 16 receptions for 232 yards, each higher figures than his past three seasons combined. It's safe to say the veteran won't be a highly sought after free agent despite the positive small sample size, but it's possible Erickson could at least make a preseason roster given his special teams acumen.

The eye-popping target figure was matched by an equally shocking inefficiency, and it's not like the 31-year-old was targeted all that often deep, save for a shot early in the first half with Justin Herbert still healthy. Wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee) could return to action this week which would relegate Erickson further down the depth chart, and the offense as a whole looks far less enticing with Herbert (finger) now done for the season.
