INJURIES
Emergency QB for Week 6 O'Connell (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Raiders' emergency third quarterback against the Bills on Sunday.
Impact O'Connell remains the third option behind Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza. The quarterback will only enter the game if both Cousins and Mendoza must leave the contest due to injury, illness or ejection.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Emergency QB3 in New England O'Connel (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Raiders' emergency third quarterback against the Patriots on Sunday.
Impact Just like the previous week, O'Connell will only be allowed to take the field in the Week 5 contest if both Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza are forced to leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
OCTOBER 11 • ROTOWIRE
Emergency QB3 vs. Kansas City O'Connell (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Raiders' emergency third quarterback against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Impact As the emergency QB3, O'Connell is not allowed to play Sunday unless both Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
OCTOBER 4 • ROTOWIRE
Clear for Week 4 O'Connell (personal) had his injury designation for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against Kansas City cleared on Saturday, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.
Impact O'Connell missed each of Las Vegas' past two games while dealing with a personal matter. He's now back with the team and eligible to play Sunday, though he'll likely be a healthy scratch with Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza both ahead of him on the QB depth chart.
OCTOBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Remains away from team Wednesday O'Connell (personal) is not practicing Wednesday, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Coach Klint Kubiak said O'Connell is expected back with the team later in the week. The Raiders' QB3, O'Connell is planted behind Kirk Cousins and rookie No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza on the depth chart.
SEPTEMBER 30 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out with personal issue O'Connell (personal) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.
Impact O'Connell is in the midst of an ongoing personal matter that will have him sidelined for consecutive weeks. It remains to be seen how much longer the reserve quarterback will be out. Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza will once again be the only two active quarterbacks on game day.
SEPTEMBER 26 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Week 3 O'Connell (personal) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.
Impact O'Connell wasn't available against the Chargers in Week 2, and he was absent from all three practices during Week 3 prep while attending to a personal matter. He hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game in New Orleans, but if isn't cleared to play, then Fernando Mendoza would be the lone backup to Kirk Cousins.

Won't suit up Sunday O'Connell (personal) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers, Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com reports.
Impact O'Connell must miss Sunday's contest due to a personal matter. With the quarterback out, Fernando Mendoza is the sole backup if Kirk Cousins goes down due to injury.
SEPTEMBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Tagged as questionable for Week 2 O'Connell is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers due to personal reasons.
Impact O'Connell did not participate in practice Thursday and Friday while attending to a personal matter, putting his availability for Sunday's AFC West tilt in doubt. He was the emergency QB3 in Week 1 against the Dolphins, and with the Raiders not carrying a quarterback on the practice squad, Las Vegas may just go with Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza as its quarterbacks for Sunday if O'Connell is not available to be the QB3.
SEPTEMBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Emergency QB3 vs. Miami O'Connell (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Raiders' emergency third quarterback against the Dolphins on Sunday.
Impact Kirk Cousins beat out first-overall pick Fernando Mendoza for the starting quarterback job Week 1, so O'Connell will suit up as the emergency QB3. As such, O'Connell is prohibited from playing Sunday unless both Cousins and Mendoza were to leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.

Plays three quarters in finale O'Connell completed 10 of 22 passes for 102 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 14-12 win over the Chiefs. He added one rush for seven yards.
Impact O'Connell was set to rotate with Kenny Pickett, though he ultimately played the final three quarters of the game after Pickett struggled. O'Connell wasn't exceptional in relief, but he did manage to complete a pair of passes for more than 20 yards while also avoiding significant mistakes. He'll remain under contract with the Raiders in 2026 and could be set to compete for the backup role, with the team almost certain to draft a quarterback first overall in the upcoming draft.
