Out with shoulder inflammation Davies was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Davies presumably sustained the injury Saturday during his last start, when he gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk over five innings. It's unclear exactly how long the 29-year-old is expected to be sidelined, though he'll be eligible to return from the injured list July 11.

Middling outing in no-decision Davies allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings, taking a no-decision versus the Tigers on Saturday.
Impact It wasn't really a good or bad start, instead treading the line of average for Davies as his winless run extended to eight starts. The right-hander has been fairly sharp in June, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) across 31.2 innings across five outings. Overall, he's at a 3.94 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 62:26 K:BB through 80 innings in 15 starts. Davies is projected for an unforgiving road start in Colorado next week.

Javier Báez hit a grand slam to quiet a fan in the front row and homer for the third straight game, lifting the Detroit Tigers to a 5-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks

Gives up four runs in loss Davies (2-4) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in six innings, taking the loss Monday versus the Padres.
Impact Davies was spotted a one-run lead before he took the mound, but he gave it back on a Jake Cronenworth solo home run. The right-hander was also tagged for a two-run single by Ha-Seong Kim in the second and a solo shot from Trent Grisham in the fifth. Davies has alternated dominance with middling performances in his last five outings, going 0-2 in that span. He now has a 3.96 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 60:25 K:BB through 75 innings across 14 starts overall. He's projected for a home start versus the Tigers this weekend.

Strong again in no-decision Davies allowed six hits and struck out seven over seven shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Tuesday. He didn't walk a batter.
Impact This was Davies' third straight quality start, but he was outplayed by Reds starter Tyler Mahle (12 strikeouts in nine shutout innings). Despite allowing just three runs in his last 20.2 innings, Davies has taken no-decisions in all three starts in that span. The right-hander owns a 3.78 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 57:22 K:BB across 69 innings in 13 starts overall. He's in line for a road start versus the Padres next week.

Turns in quality start Davies allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out seven across six innings Thursday against the Reds. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Davies allowed four hits prior to recording an out, which led to all three of his earned runs coming in the first inning. However, he retired 14 of the final 15 batters he faced to turn in his second consecutive quality start. Davies has also seen an uptick in strikeouts in recent starts, tallying 18 punchouts across his last 19 frames. Overall, he has a 4.21 ERA with a 50:22 K:BB across 62 frames on the season.
JUNE 9 • ROTOWIRE
Gem goes to waste Davies pitched 7.2 shutout innings Saturday versus the Pirates, allowing three hits and two walks with six strikeouts in a no-decision.
Impact Davies was excellent, throwing 62 of 101 pitches for strikes in easily his best start of the year. The Diamondbacks generated just one run of support, and that thin lead didn't stick when Mark Melancon blew the save in the ninth inning. Considering Davies had allowed at least three runs in each of his last four starts, this is a step in the right direction. He's now at a 4.18 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 43:21 K:BB through 56 innings in 11 starts this year. The 29-year-old is expected to make his next start in Cincinnati next week.
JUNE 4 • ROTOWIRE
Surrenders three runs in loss Davies (2-3) took the loss during Sunday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts 5.1 innings.
Impact Davies avoided major damage but served up a Will Smith solo shot in the second inning and two runs on three baserunners in the third to fall in line for the loss as Arizona's offense was dormant. The biggest takeaway is the 29-year-old showed no ill effects of a lower-leg injury that put Sunday's start in question. After delivering consecutive scoreless outings to open May, Davies has allowed at least three runs in each of his last four starts and will look to get back on track next weekend against Pittsburgh.
MAY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Throws bullpen, scheduled Sunday Davies (leg) threw a 31-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Jack Sommers of MLB.com reports, and the right-hander is scheduled to start Sunday against the Dodgers.
Impact Davies left his most recent start during the fourth inning after taking a 112.4 mph liner to the leg off the bat of Bobby Witt Jr. According to the report, Thursday's bullpen session went well, and Davies will not miss a turn.
MAY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Exits with leg injury Davies left Monday's start against the Royals due to an apparent lower leg injury, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
Impact Davies took a line drive off his lower leg and limped off the field with a trainer. Prior to the injury, he allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out two across 3.2 innings. He will not factor into the decision, as the game was tied upon his exit. It's not clear whether Davies will be available for his next turn through the rotation.
MAY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Whiffs six in win Davies (2-1) earned the win during Friday's 4-3 victory over the Cubs, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
Impact Davies pitched well aside from the third inning, when he surrendered all three runs on three hits, but Arizona clawed back from the early deficit to put the 29-year-old in line for the victory. Davies has been his typical solid yet unspectacular self this season, permitting no more than four earned runs in any of his seven starts, though a 4.27 FIP compared to a 3.57 ERA indicates he's been a bit lucky so far. He's scheduled to toe the rubber again next week against the Dodgers.

Rivas' key hit vs hometown Padres lifts Cubs to 7-5 win

Settles for no-decision Davies hurled 6.1 scoreless innings against Colorado on Saturday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out six. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact The right-hander submitted his finest effort of the campaign thus far, pitching beyond the fifth inning for the first time and holding the Rockies scoreless while racking up 14 swinging strikes. Unfortunately for Davies, opposing starter Kyle Freeland matched him in putting goose eggs on the board, leaving both hurlers to settle for a no-decision. Nonetheless, this was a promising outing for Davies, who hasn't allowed an earned run over his past two starts covering 11.1 frames. That has lowered his ERA, which stood at 5.40 through four starts, to a much more appealing 3.34 overall.
MAY 8 • ROTOWIRE
Takes no-decision Sunday Davies allowed two unearned runs on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Sunday.
Impact A one-out error by Ketel Marte ultimately allowed two runs to come across the plate in the third inning. Davies left the game in line for the win, but the Diamondbacks' bullpen couldn't maintain the lead. The right-hander won't see any damage added to his ratios after this start -- he has a 4.24 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 16:11 K:BB through 23.1 innings across five outings. He lines up for a home start versus the Rockies next weekend.
MAY 1 • ROTOWIRE
Limits damage in no-decision Davies didn't factor into the decision during Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Dodgers, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts in four innings.
Impact Davies got off to a rocky start, surrendering a bases-clearing double to Will Smith in the first inning, but was able to limit the damage to those three runs despite heavy traffic on the bases, and Arizona rebounded to eventually win the game. The eight baserunners increased the 29-year-old's WHIP to 1.47 -- a bottom 10 mark -- and he likely won't be able to strand as many runners as he did Tuesday. He's tentatively scheduled to toe the rubber on Sunday in St. Louis for his next start.
APRIL 27 • ROTOWIRE
Whiffs seven in second win Davies (1-1) allowed two hits, two runs and two walks while recording seven strikeouts over five innings in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Nationals.
Impact Davies bounced back nicely after getting pummeled by the Mets six days ago. The Diamondbacks are Davies' third team in three seasons after one-year stints with the Padres and Cubs, and his work n the Cactus League ensured him a spot in Arizona's rotation this season. His seven strikeouts are an encouraging metric for the 29-year-old veteran.
APRIL 22 • ROTOWIRE
Knocked around by Mets Davies (0-1) took the loss Friday against the Mets, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits in 4.1 innings of work, striking out two while walking one.
Impact Davies managed just one scoreless inning in his second start of the year. Pete Alonso drove in runs with sacrifice flies in both the first and third innings, while Robinson Cano hit a solo shot in the fourth and Francisco Lindor hit a two-run homer in the fifth. Davies now owns a 5.79 ERA and 1.61 WHIP through two outings, striking out four and walking four. He'll look to turn things around in his next outing, which lines up to come Wednesday in Washington.

Walks three Saturday Davies didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Padres after allowing two runs on four hits and three walks across five innings. He struck out three.
Impact Davies was just three outs away from posting a quality start in an outing in which 43 of his 75 pitches went for strikes. He's looking to rebound from a 2021 season in which he posted a 5.78 ERA across 32 starts with the Cubs, and while he was far from perfect in this one and recorded more walks than strikeouts, it was still a decent performance as he limited the damage. Davies is expected to make his next start next week in the series against the Mets.
