Earns win Wednesday
Peralta (1-1) allowed one unearned on three hits and no walks while striking out five to earn the win in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Cleveland.
Impact
Peralta earned his third start of the season and delivered his best outing. The only damage against him came on an RBI triple by Bradley Zimmer, though the run was unearned due to an error earlier in the inning. Otherwise, Peralta was strong and racked up a season-best five strikeouts, which was backed by 13 swinging strikes on 80 total pitches. Peralta now has a 3.21 ERA across 14 innings as both a starter and reliever this season, though he has worked five innings in two of his last three starts.

Third start coming Wednesday
Peralta is scheduled to start Wednesday's series finale in Cleveland, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact
Detroit will likely be looking for Peralta to provide more length in his third start of the season after he was essentially deployed in a tandem with Kyle Funkhouser in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Astros. In the Tigers' 3-2 loss, Peralta tossed 2.2 scoreless frames before giving way to Funkhouser, who followed with 2.1 scoreless innings of his own. The Tigers are expected to be without Matthew Boyd (triceps) and Spencer Turnbull (forearm) through the All-Star break, so Peralta should have some longevity in the rotation if he can merely perform adequately in his future starts.

Peralta won't start Friday against the Astros as previously scheduled, as the game has been postponed by rain, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Garners another start
Peralta is slated to make another start Friday against the Astros, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Impact
With Spencer Turnbull (forearm) and Matthew Boyd (triceps) still residing on the injured list, Peralta will stick around for a second turn in Detroit's rotation as the No. 5 starter. The 32-year-old made his first big-league start since 2017 in a June 19 loss to the Angels, working five innings while giving up five runs on seven hits and two walks.

Takes loss in spot start
Peralta (0-1) allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings. He took the loss Saturday versus the Angels.
Impact
Peralta ran into trouble in the third inning and allowed a pair of two-run home runs to Shohei Ohtani and Jared Walsh. The right-hander filled in as a spot starter Saturday, but he didn't do much to suggest he's earned a longer look in the rotation. If he gets another turn, it would likely be during next weekend's four-game series versus Houston.

Starting Saturday
Peralta will start Saturday's game against the Angels, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact
Peralta was called up by the Tigers on Tuesday, and he tossed 1.1 scoreless relief innings and earned a hold in Tuesday's win over the Royals. He'll make his first start since 2017 in Saturday's contest, but he'll likely return to a bullpen role afterward since the Tigers' rotation will be able to rest during Monday's off day.

Peralta has pitched in the majors during seven previous seasons with the Brewers and Royals, most recently posting a 3.67 ERA and 35:23 K:BB across 40.1 innings with Kansas City in 2019.
