Slated for TJ surgery Lin is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Impact Lin has been out of action at Triple-A since mid-June, and he'll now be forced to miss the rest of the season after deciding to undergo Tommy John surgery. The procedure is likely to keep him out for the vast majority of the 2027 campaign as well.

Impact The 20-year-old lefty missed about two weeks of action due to a left quad strain. One of the Athletics' top pitching prospects, Lin could soon be ready for a promotion to Triple-A Las Vegas after turning in a 2.03 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 51:13 K:BB in 44.1 innings through his first nine starts with Midland.

On IL at Double-A Double-A Midland placed Lin on the 7-day injured list May 13 with a left quad strain.

Impact Lin struck out a career-high 10 batters in six innings May 7 but was placed on the injured list before making another start. The 20-year-old southpaw boasts a 1.85 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB in 34 innings across seven starts for the RockHounds.
